So pubs open good Fri does it make any difference to you

Also anyone stick to no meat

Personally I prefer a few at home and if I remember I'll try no meat

Never go to pubs anyway and already have several meatfree days every week. Not remotely religious so the day itself is an irrelevance to me.

No difference for me as: I dont drink alcohol and I dont eat meat at all. I'm vegan and as usual on Friday I'll be fasting. Only water, herbal teas and veggie smoothie on breakfast.

You do know fish on Friday was started by the Catholic church because they owned a fishing fleet and sales were low? Just a little something you might want to know

No difference at all, and as for eating meat, I haven't observed in years. Religion was something I inherited, not a true belief. But if I'm spending time with observant family members or friends, I'll abstain out of respect for their traditions. Otherwise it's just like any other day

Will be out for a few drinks and a bite to eat later at a burger joint so will be eating meat too.

Don't see why because some mythical character "died" that it should have any impact on what I consume.

There is pretty much universal agreement that Jesus existed. Although the rest of it you can take with a pinch of salt

Usual for me. Working but after changing jobs it will be from home. Can catch up on billions and sit with the laptop on my knee

Everyone one is happy to take Easter, Christmas holidays, paddys off but still slag off religion. I'm not that religious but these all created from the church. Similar to the schools that want religion gone from schools but not happy that no longer be a nativity play etc.

I'd rather be working at Christmas and take time of when it suited me,who wants to be at home on shitty dark days? As for Paddy's day,it's fine if it falls at a weekend,but bank holidays in the middle of the week are feck all use to anyone,and a logistical nightmare for some businesses. I'd be happy to see the end of bank/public holidays and everyone just get the days added to annual leave to take when they wish.

Most “holidays” actually tie in with the big pagan festivals. It was just easier to do it that way to get people to change to Christianity

Don't think it was yo protect fishing that fasting was introduced. According to Christian teaching, Jesus died on a Friday, and his death redeemed a sinful world. People have written of fasting on Friday to commemorate this sacrifice as early as the first century.

Technically, it's the flesh of warmblooded animals that's off limits — an animal "that, in a sense, sacrificed its life for us.

Fish are coldblooded, so they're considered fair game.

I thought it was no meat day unfortunately I ate a big Mac burger today lol but I did honestly forget wish I I could have a fee drinks can't afford it just stick with lol
