I use a lip stainer instead ...stays on all night very little reapplying and no smudge. You can get them in most beauty shops

Subtle I can deal with to an extent, but the thought of it coming off onto my skin and in or around my mouth just revolts me.

Try a matte liquid lipstick. Rimmel have afew lovely shades I like. Mac I like theirs too. They last hours.
