It's nice when my kids remember it but a small token something is just fine. It was cute when my son proudly presented me with Aldi flowers when he had his first job. This year he's abroad so I'm expecting a text when someone reminds him

Me? Nothing really, a bar of chocolate we can all share, it's just nice to be appreciated, parenting can be tough.

Another over hyped day with over priced flowers etc which means very little.. I much rather the spontaneous hugs and I love you just because they want too so I dont need a certain day where it's expected it actually means less to me..

Unfortunately like Valentine's day most of those day celebrations are completely commercialised events, while the original intention gets lost in the materialistic battle.

It's the thought behind it that matters not the product.

Generally I would agree, however its cute to see that they consider it important. Hugs are always good

Got a lovely letter from my daughter already signed by the 3 of them. She’s so full of love and thoughtful makes me proud I’ve done something right so far.

Just wondering folks, my ex is my 3 year olds mum. I always try and get my ex something nice from my daughter on my exs birthday, Christmas, valentines etc, so any ideas as to what I should get her from my daughter for mothers day? She is an amazing mum.

I have small kids (10 and 5 years old) but always surprise me with their handmade gifts: cookies, cards, etc The best gift is their smiles, hugs and kisses!

Hmmmmmmm, this thread has gotten me thinking..... since my partner passed this is the first mother's day without her around. Should maybe go visit her mother and take her out to lunch or send a card or something or would that be a bad idea?

Near Enough

I will spend the day with my son visiting my Mam, then having dinner with one of my sisters and her kids. A card is nice, but after that just spending the day with family is all I need

See it doesnt matter of hallmark take over or invent a day, peoples spirits and intentions on those days are what make them.

Yes you could do these small things any day but its noce to have days to focus on the important stuff.

I'm a sentimental woman

So a card means more to me than an actual gift

I was only speaking about cards the other day. We nearly all do them but they're some waste of money

Its always a good idea!

I still have good relations with my parents in law after divorce. I send them festive cards, make a call once a week. They are grandparents to my kids.

Anything nice will be appreciated. Small things might change someone's life. All these things matters
