I had a non-scalpel vasectomy in 2017. The event itself doesn't hurt as you are under local anaesthetic. Recovery process afterwards is about 1-2weeks where you cannot fuck or masturbate. You have to keep an ice-pack on your balls for a a short while each day. After a week or so, you are told to "wank off twice a day" to clear all the sperm out your tubes. Then you go to send in a sample after 16 weeks. When you get the results and they show negative sperm count, it's done and you're free to fuck.

Only downsides, the amount of cum will reduce as you have less sperm. So if you've enjoyed lots of ejaculate and showering your partner, there will be a lot less to work with.

I've had zero side effects, no pain or anything.

With the non-scalpel vasectomy, they cauterize the vas deferens tubes, so nothing is tied. Any sperm produced from the testicles travel down the tubes then are just absorbed into the body. It's harmless, no side effects.

I’d definitely recommend the non scalpel vasectomy as I had it done myself. Into the doctors surgery, a couple of injections to numb the area and about 10-15 minutes later all done. No stitches or anything and walked out of there no problem.

As a previous poster has already said no masturbation or sex for 2 weeks.

I only lasted a week and couldn’t stick it any longer.

Ask your doctor about the latest research on the incidence of post snip chronic pain.

That's a risk, weigh up the stats.

Let's be realistic, remember the trend is your friend, consider the decreasing fertilitly rate of the thirty something Irish woman and let's face it you're an ould fella afterall, so how many young WANs are you going to be sleeping with in the next 20 years?

Looking at all those statistics I'd say a 24 pack of durex should see you well into your dotage.

I was under pressure from herself to get it done.

Went to doc , gave me a video to watch , I did, nothing major to worry about in it.

But I didn't get it done.

I won't even get the dog squeezed coz to me it takes away your manliness (if such a word)

So nope just couldn't do it.

The Mrs found alternative means so pressure off.

The brother got it done, said there's no difference.

On a side note the brother knew a fella who had it done and 8 year's later his Mrs got pregnant......ahhh yeah he says

Tests proved it was his so it's not always 100% guaranteed.

It sounds like some lads went to a butcher to get the procedure done. I got it done a few years ago. A little uncomfortable during the procedure, took about 30 mins. Back into the car and back to work for me. No heavy lifting etc for a few days. A mans ejaculate is primarily seminal fluid so you won’t even notice (volume wise) that your little swimmers are no longer there. No negative side effects, if anything it makes sex better as we all enjoy leaving a creampie behind with no pregnancy worries

I got it done years ago. It was, scalpel, knot, and cauterisation. However shortly into the procedure the anaesthetic wore off. I told them to carry on. It was extremely painful. But it was effective, and apart from a little internal scarring around the knots there have been no problems. The big advantage was being able to fire and forget, with no risk of pregnancy, such a relief. I'd say got for it.

Fantastic thread, I've always been amazed how swingers rarely speak about contraception, it's kinda fundamental to the sport!

I had a similar to be sure, to be sure, to be sure procedure as Tantra-man above, start of the art twenty years ago. Any pain etc. is nothing compared to what women put up with childbirth or even bad menstrual cramps so guys, seriously, grow a pair and take some responsibility!

My Doc (and off-the-scale hot nurse!) Only had one customer ever come back saying it didn't work. The pregnant woman came in with the hubby all guns blazing, he just eye-balled her and asked quietly if there was something she wasn't telling her husband. If you’re both done having kids this or tubal ligation is the way to go. Synthetic hormones aren’t the best imho, the pill really suppressed my sexual appetite, coming off it was the best decision I ever made!

I'm 25yrs snipped & never any problems ... done in a doctors surgery, in & out in 5mins.. back to work next day...then once a month for 9 months after had to send samples to test for swimmers ... 11 months after before I got the all clear ... so guys when back in the saddle after the snip the gone may not yet be firing blanks

Plenty of ice as the other folks said. Plenty of paracetamol and take the following two days off work to rest. If your balls swell to the size of grapefruits - as mine did- then it's time to pop down to your local doc. Get herself to sign a contract stating that there will be an increase in sexual positions and sex in general. Cum volume will drop plus it won't protect against STI's. Finally, when she keeps asking are you ok with tying the tubes or having no more kids, tell her there's always cloning. The procedure is a doddle.

Got it done a couple of months ago, still waiting for the all clear.

Was more sore than I thought it would be, bruised for 2 weeks. Was sore at times until just recently. No change in volume of cum, don't know who has seen that cos it doesn't make any sense. Read up online. Long term it'll be worth it i reckon!

Had it done...I’m the greatest coward but it was straight forward.

You MUST rest for two days keeping feet up as much as possible.

After that you are up and running.

If pregnancy is an issue ejaculate regularly for the specified time and you will be ready to rock in no time.

Don’t be put off if it’s what you want....take it from a complete coward

I had it done 17 yrs ago and had none of the side effects that some have said. I drove home after the minor op and then went on a 10 day sailing trip around western isles of Scotland 3 days later. Paracetamol was all I needed for first few days to reduce any discomfort.

Like most things, you hear a horror story and then people think it happens often because it's been passed about in the pubs, clubs and social media. You'll rarely here how smooth something went as it's not got a story to it but there are tend of thousands of them.

Mine was fine after a few days, I even went sailing for 10 days just afterwards. Most stories also get embellished as they're passed around too.

Argh typo

I did a test wank 2 days afterwards and it was a bit sore. For that 2 weeks it was bruised and a little uncomfortable at times but not really painful painful like. I'd paracetamol the night of it and that's it. So when I say it was sore, it was noticeable but not too bad

Also i might add mine was done no lasers in a Doctors surgery whom provides the opp locally. Little tender for a few days . Then the follow up apointment to make sure the little swimmers have stopped
