New idea

So we are not the only ones getting fed up with the site and the amount of fake profiles, which is for the real genuine people time wasting and disheartening, why don’t the genuine people meet up once a month in locations agreed by all that change every month to suit everyone, as a social night out and if you click with anyone you go back to your accommodation for fun , just an idea , what does folk think on this ??

Theres no such thing as a bad idea, but what demographic(s) on Fab are you aiming for..?

You will get a percentage that idea will work for but the size of the percentage is the unknown..

There’s socials regularly enough where they meet book accommodation have entertainment etc. You might have to travel a bit but there’s usually something somewhere monthly.

nothing like that at I mean a night out who ever wants can go and what entails afterwards is entirely up to the individuals concerned, not aimed at anyone in particular

Great idea but. Unfortunately there’s a number of pit falls. No venue wants to be associated with “that type of thing” 2nd these things need to b kept hush hush due to the number of single gents.

We’ve host regular party’s. pm us for more details.

you wouldn’t be booking a venue as it would just be a night out to a pub or club amongst other revellers , I’ve never seen any one yet with a swinger label on them , it would not be posted on a forum , as I said it’s only a night out what individuals choose to do at the end of the night is at their own discretion, we have been to your parties

In an ideal world, this may work the way you envision it.

In Ireland, with the 'small town syndrome' and the gutter-press Grima Wormtongues lurking in 'verified profiles' - it would spell disaster - and has done already.

No-one wants to end up with their profiles/pics, forum posts or even 'private' mails spread across 4 double-page spreads in a well-known rag portraying consenting adults having a social gathering as a 'sex-orgy in a local bar'. You laugh??? Believe me - there are plenty of us long-termers around still who remember this very thing happening, more than once.

unfortunately people will get spiteful and out the occasion to the venue. It's happened before. There was a social organised in Carlow and it was outted to the local paper by some spiteful person. Another social was actually outted by accident by loudmouths in the smoking area.

I've helped arranged a few social nights out in bars in Belfast & its always been discreet & good craic. It is doable.

I think it’s a great idea, and yes I know that certain oues have got outed in the past but a spiteful few but but if it was kept hush and not discussed in the forums I think it could work.

I have seen people wanting to pull the discussions into KIK and then rows starting as non Fab members get invited to the KIK forums so just PM’ing the organizer and keeping it to smaller groups where you don’t have to book a venue could be a better option.

So all we would need would be 32 organizers 1 for each county or for the less populated counties one for that area! Keep the numbers to 10 or so for a socilal drink rugularly and the people that go each month or two months could change adding a Newbie to get them verified!

Good idea OP IMO anyway.

I met a couple for coffee in Costa and despite being discreet in our conversation, we soon had some ‘looks’ from people who were not exactly that close but must have had nuclear powered hearing. I can just imagine 20/30 of us in a Belfast city centre bar , a few drinks, conversation flowing with the words , veris, cocks, 3 somes , no show , timewasters , BBC etc etc. Lol

Yes cause they are jealous and spoil sports! I think people on here can be descrete and these are only social meets for people to get introduced to each other not playing in front of the Big TV screen while the rest watch Ireland V Gibraltar .

Over the years I’ve organised group socials, parties, club nights and one big m&g (250 people-nightmare, which was outted TWICE before the event)

There is more work involved in these meet ups than you’d imagine.

But having said that, having an informal social evening where most are invited would be ideal.
