Fussy

your imagination

It's a word I'm not terribly comfortable with, as it implies that there is something inherently wrong with the person/people you don't want to meet. Telling someone who doesn't match your preferences that you're fussy feels a bit insulting.

I can think someone is stunningly beautiful, clever and witty, yet still not be sexually attracted to them. They just don't make my tuppence tingle for some elusive reason. Is there a better word for this than fussy (discerning also has the same implications)? Perhaps we need to invent one?

Thought it was called “no reply” or “blocked”

I have been called fussy a few times both on here and in vanilla life but the way I look at it, I know what I like, what I don't like and not going to settle because society says we should get married have kids and settle down. So yes I'm fussy

I agree 100% with your ideals, it's just the word I'm ambivalent about. In one way it's perfectly appropriate, but there is more than a hint of insult in it too, which I'm uncomfortable with.

Fussy is just another meaning for particular and selective .

Everyone has their own preference here who they want to meet.

It is ok go be fussy here on fab .

I cant see how it could be termed as insulting or hurtful but that depends how and when that term is used

If its display on a profile a person is fussy or selective on who they meet I think thats fine.

But if it's used as sorry no thanks I'm not interested I'm fussy .that is rude.

If it's written on a profile and someone feels insulted by reading it I'd hate to imagine how they take a thanks but no thanks.

Fussy is other people's non supportive description to your decision or life choices & yet we are supposed to have choice ... but it appears to be only that choice that suits the norm.

fussy- adjective UK

/'f?s.i/ US

/'f?s.i/ disapproving

fussy adjective (NOT EASILY SATISFIED)

C2 not easily satisfied, or having very high standards about particular things:

All my children were fussy eaters.

He's so fussy about the house - everything has to be absolutely perfect.

"Why am I still single?" "You're too fussy - that's your problem!"

See... There it is... Right in the middle of your comment. 'Disapproving', which has moral or ethical connotations. The word fussy is far too open to interpretation, and too easily taken as an insult.

We describe ourselves as picky, which we and everyone else is perfectly entitled to be when it comes to choosing sexual partners. If others have a problem with the term, that's what it is, their problem.

Try “normal”. No-one is obliged to like everything about everyone... oh i forgot, this is fab, having a profile here means you have to sleep with anyone that asks..... how very dare you.... fussy.... tut

Chemistry seeker no, this is quite a tough one alright. Guess you’ll just have to explain it to everyone who doesn’t make the cut

There's no need to tell someone why they aren't a match, simply say they're not what you're looking for, if they can't accept that with good grace, then it's a good call on your part.

I’m getting quite fussy/picky now you come to mention it. So many messages each day saying “come fuck me now, I’m really horny and I want u inside me” ( followed by their address and a pic of them in sussies, on their knees waiting on me). I just message back and say sorry but I’m looking a woman actually.

Instead of fussy maybe 'sexually selective' tell them they are good looking but in a Katherine Heigl non sexy kinda way.

Must review my block list ; I immediately block overly fussy profiles. Profiles that minutely specify height, hair, nationality, religion, race, cock length, cock girth, facial hair, number of tattoos, whiteness of teeth, body size , marital status. None of this tells you about the person living inside these narrow guidelines. Can’t recall anyone specifying “ must be a nice guy, polite honest dependable” - just as long as your cock is over 8” then c’mon over . Deep deep people right there.

I just don’t get into a discussion about it saves countless arguements and name calling. Those heated discussions usually only happen when people think that they had a chance in the first place. If they mistook your nature and chatiness for flirting instead of polite conversation.

"If you told someone they're good looking, would you shag them?"

What is "good looking" though? I probably judge good looking by my desire to have sex with them.

If they're a head wrecker though, it doesn't matter how good looking they are. Ah no wait, feck that, I'd take the chance sure..

OK head wrecking ladies, line up!

No, not true. There are women that I think are good looking that I wouldn't go near as they are way too much hard work. I'm working for one at the moment and physically she is seriously attractive but mentally she would destroy me.

I think it's just knowing what you like and want

Some people wanna hook up and not have any standards just looking for an outlet

Doesn't matter how you see yourself or what you like whether it's physical or personality

Just know what you want that's how I see it and you won't settle for less

I prefer "discerning", it doesn't have the negative undertones of fussy. Maybe choosy, selective,? I've decided to be more discerning here on Fab, turning down some invites, and my experiences have been better. Am I fussy? It's not a word I use, maybe choosy, selective, discerning. Yep. That describes me.
