The Republic of Ireland, smashing place to live.

We have a minister for children that has none.

A minister for transport that doesnt drive.

A minister for the Gaeltacht who can't speak a word of the Irish language.

A minister for health who never had a job and dropped out of college.

And a complete fool who loves socks for Taoiseach

The biggest party in the country Fianna Fail are propping up this useless shower of elitists because they are scared shitless of a general election.

A country with a population of less than 5 million and 10,000 of these homeless and a third or more of that number being children.

A hospital crisis that is out of control and absolutely nothing being done about it only blaming the nurses.

The hidden homeless are in figures of the thousands, because it's now harder to register as homeless. These also include students in college that couch surf due to unaffordable rents.

Scandal after scandal in the religious sector with dead babies, child traffiking, illegal selling of children, r@pe, abuse, and nobody held accountable.

Bankers forging mortgage papers to cherry pick houses, evictions by private security companies from another country as gardai look on.

Gardai falsifying breathaliser tests, numbering over 1.5m. Blackening the names of gardai bringing light to abuses of power.

Why would you leave this beautiful corrupt to the core little island, as d'unbelievables once said, it'd be a lovely country if we could only roof it

Ireland is a country of people flushing their babies down the toilets with pills ordered online, complaining the church threw their babies in septic tanks.

That's all you really need to know about Irish mentality, and why nothing will change.

Why do you need to speak Irish to promote the language or have kids to be the minister for children.

If you don't like the country you live in leave, this great country has an Airport and a National Air line you can avail of

Good thinking, people who have lived on this land for so long that they genetically evolved to live here should get on a plane and fuck off if they dont like people being homeless and think we can do better.

Or you could do something about it , stop moaning and do something.

Why come a web site forum and moan about, everyone has an opinion ND right so, but instead of moaning be proactive.

My point was you don't need to have children to be the Minister for children etc etc.

Your point is, either do something or be apathetic and just do nothing.

You don't need to be qualified in an area to work in it, is your view. I mean if you don't have children then you should at least have some sort of degree or phd in social economics, or something.

If we are to accept totally unqualified people in positions, then they need to become middle managers, and not come up with ideas of their own and instead put every idea to people to vote for. The technology is there to allow this.

Just want to point one thing , the minister for transportation doesn't drive it should be a good thing cause should be aware of how hard it is to travel around Ireland in public transports , I know they have no clue

These are the people that we have voted in.... They didn't just apply for the job over a website.

What I am saying is it is very easy to put things down or moan about them, but yet when people are faced with actions they do not take them they take the easy option because 900 precent of the time it doesn't really affect them.

Ivory tower politics

Just pointing out a few things. This here rant was gleamed from a social post I seen earlier. I was born here and I’m proud of my heritage. I could have taken a job as an animator some years ago in the states but decided to stay here. I have two companies here in Ireland. One of which donates 90% of its profits to charity. Last year alone autism Ireland profited to the tune of €23k. I love my country but I think it’s in a bit of a mess right about now. Nothing that can’t be fixed by a better person than me.

Again it was just a post I found interesting and decided to share.

There is a serious over estimation of the work a minister does. Expertise would be nice but the real work is done by the civil servants who work for the minister. The minister's job is to point them in the direction of government policy or put a spin on things to suggest that what they've done is in line with government policy.

One of our worst performing ministers for health was Dr James Reilly, after years of people saying we need a doctor as minister for health.

I didn't vote them in either, but someone did. They only way things will change in this country is if the people in it do something about it.

Don't vote in the same government and look for real reform and change.

Thank fook women no longer have to take risks like that anymore. One positive a woman's right to choose has happened. Monumental decision for women and a choice you will never fully understand.

Thank you for pointing out a positive

Couldn't agree more. If you want to change a broken system you need somebody from the outside. No Irish medical professional shod be ever minister for health as their peers and other vested interests hold them back from introducing radical reforms. Same applies to other ministries.

Politics should be taught in secondary schools . Young adults should know they have choices as well as a voice. Too many people following in the footsteps of their families. This country is in a mess because of the clowns running it. Go to the courts any day of the week and watch hard working people lose their homes. No bail out for them while the banks were bailed out and are still being bailed out. Families living in hotels mostly owned by ministers. Houses been repossessed and sold to foreign vulture funds. I'll stop now.

Politics in this country is run by the elite. Look at our government 90% of them where private educated they are not in touch with reality.

Here in lies the answers, we need people who have been through hard times and understand the plite their fellow people have been through

"They should all be put in a line beside a wall and shot.. time for some younger people to come in and take over."

The only problem with that is that the younger politically active people in Ireland are the kardashians of the political world, they just like to look at their own posts all day long and see how cool they look.

They are all basicaly incapable of critical thinking or debating.

Well who do YOU think should run the country??? The clowns that are running it into the ground at the moment should be shown the door. Name one minister or department that is actually doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Politicians, no matter from what party, are intrinsically egotists/narcissists who's ability rarely,if ever matches their enlarged egos. Personally I prefer the current crop despite their limitations over the very corrupt bunch of the Haughy era. Just a personal view.
