Ladies, how many plain "hi" messages do you delete before you block the user?

I've got this little rule - if someone contacts me 5 times having nothing to say, but "hi" - they travel to the block list, as clearly they're not interested enough to make any effort to at the least read the profile and that'll definitely won't make me interested in them...

I have unlimited patience but there is a tiny red line... and automatic block even not reading the message.

There is no standard, one off, magic formula type message that will work for everyone. People are different, instead of carpet bombing the whole of fab with the same message, read profiles, make sure they are looking for what you are looking for, spend a bit of time constructing a personal message tailored to that specific profile.

I dont mind the "hi" messages atal I've replied to some which led to great meets.. I just think some ppl find it hard to know what to put in a first message I know I do at times. I just look at it like a night out where alot of new conversations start with a simple hi. I really don't understand why so much pressure is put on how to write that first message. Surely if the profile doesn't interest you it wouldnt matter what way they write the message. Am I the only one that has this opinion.

It's not just guys, some couples continually message that do not meet our preferences. They proceed to try justif their mail by saying they don't look their age etc. Sorry but it won't make us change our mind

It's a repeat thing with many men. They just send a generic 'hi' to anyone who happens to be online in the hope that their scattershot approach might get a response from at least 1 woman. They don't care who really, as long as someone replies, and they never remember who they've already tried, so you'll get repeat messages (sometimes even just later on the same day!) from them every few days/weeks. There's one particular long-haired guy who has sent me a hello with his face pics so many times now that if I printed them out I could wallpaper a room!!

Fair enough just putting hi in a message is pretty weak and most likely won't get a reply but there's the flip side of this where guys do actually make a good effort at a decent opener and it's binned instantly.

Damned if ya do,damned if ya don't!

Now saying all that if somebody deletes a message from me i wont be bothering with them again.Have some self respect lads.

The way I see it is like passing a stranger on the street. They say hello, you say hi and both just keep walking on.

About hi messages here - it doesn't have to be all pressure, if one has a personality that is half compatible with mine and acrually does read my profile - they would have something more to say.

Imagine if we all actually put in the time to get to know every single person behind every single "hi". I'm sure they are all lovely no doubt as I've yet to meet anyone who isn't, but is all that time worth the effort?

Its different for everyone here what they expect from a first message. My point was whether it's a well written message or a simple hi if the profile doesn't interest me then what they write won't matter. I get know the odd hi message not every single one here. Just like I would when I'm out in a pub one hi can lead to a long chat.

I think what happens is that such guys message so many different women, trying to get laid, that they forget who all they have messaged so they end up messaging them again...... and again....... and again......and.....so on.

Now and then I do message women more than once. Many times i find out later that they had 200 messsges that day and either didn’t read it or bulk deleted when the next day another 200 arrived. If it’s not been read , those are 2 possibilities . This is particularly true of new members and/ drop dead gorgeous members. So send away until it’s been read/replied to/deleted
