What's the point in the block button if you can have several fab accounts? Should only allow one account per ip address in my opinion.

I get that it can be frustrating when someone uses multiple accounts to stalk someone or circumvent blocks. But people do have second accounts for legitimate reasons too. Couples who also meet separately often have additional singles profiles, and for event hosts like myself it's much easier to organise and manage events from an event profile than opening up all our filters on our personal profiles. I tend to only use the event one though when I've something planned, otherwise it remains hidden so as not to cause confusion.

bit pointless then when anyone can just hop on to another profile when they get blocked.. But I see wer your coming from

Border Area

Dont forget the people with split personality disorder. They need multiple profiles too.

A small but often overlooked minority..

Totally agree!! I recently had a guy I played with last year set up a new account here, new kik, catfish me into thinking he was someone else, and land at my door to play. I could report him of course, but sure moments after he left he'd deleted his account and I'm assuming set up a new one. Makes it v hard to protect yourself.

city

IP bans fell out of favour decades ago.

Multiple people renting in a share. A school can be knocked off in one click, a whole university complex?

Yahoo knocked 50-100,000 people off by accident once with a single ip ban.

Then there is the fact that people can turn off their router and get a new ip, or use a free vpn to cycle through loads of them.

Basically if someone will go to the bother of making 2 ids, then they will go to the bother of running the other id in a vpn, so you are only hurting legitimate users.

I agree its a bit frustrating.

I guess it works for the slightly misguided annoyong accounts that dont take a no but are very malicious.

As for people that go to the effort of setting up several acconts they will always find ways around restricions...

Theu will just set up accounts when on guest wifi's etc....

That's just plain creepy.

First of all I see where you come from but that opens a few issues

1 - what if it's a couple but want to have a couple account , and then each a separate account ?

2- IP bans don't work since you can easy use TOR and swap IP easy

The solution to avoid this ? There isn't a easy one , I'd say just double check people before meet or even accept as friends
