Fear of failure. Fear is a natural process for the human species. It's a necessary part of our brain otherwise our species wouldn't have survived. The issue is that fear is part of the older part of the brain. The frontal lobes/frontal cortex are where we rationalise our thoughts and where we are able to distinguish "rational" fears.(running away from a dangerous situation as opposed to conquering our fear of our comfort zone where we can handle rejection through rationalised perspective)

Its not just you, it's hard to get a full gauge on someone ability to let go on a 1st meet. Sure you would have chatted for a while possibly had a social, attraction is mutual but it takes two or three meets to relax fully and show your potential. Once your both enjoying it tharts the main thing and you will enjoy it more as you go with new surprises along the way

I don't get nervous, but when I'm really into someone I shiver with excitement and anticipation before I meet them and often right up until that first deep kiss. Doesn't matter how often I've met them, it will still happen. It's a good sign actually, means I know it's going to be a really fucking hot meet

If the chemistry is there it can be explosive but sometimes the anxiety creeps in especially when meeting for the first time.

A soft play on our first meet usually takes the pressure off and leads onto the second meet.

But I love the butterflies it adds to the excitement of it all.. Your not alone op.

Expectations are controlling you. These can be good bad or just wrong. It's a common human disposition to place exactions outside of where they should be boxed. It's not just a simple case of changing them either and they are governed by many factors, often related to behaviour or how one views themselves.

No simple solution for many.
