I used to listen a lot of 50's music before.. found I am getting back into it lately ! Bobby Darin.. Eddie Cochran to name a couple . Anyone else into stuff from that era ?

Eddie cochran.....great voice...cool guitar player who just happened to be able to write some mighty fine tunes...his vocals were always outstanding...had great range and still puts alot of modern singers shame...especially concidering he died age 21...sad...but left a great legacy

Totally agree !! Just finished listening to Twenty flight rock. Some absolute classics for a young man.

I recently watched a Buddy Holly documentary and found a new appreciation for that type of music.

Some of his songs, especially the later ones when he started adding strings are beautiful.

And to think his career only spanned a year and a half.

Imagine what could have been.

A 1950's style meet where the man or men wears a sharp suit & hat, the woman in a long dress with alluring retro bra and undies underneath with an ecletic mix of 50's music on vinyl playing in the background does sound like heaven...

I always find myself going back to it.

If you've spotify look up Dreamboats and Petticoats.

They've some great albums and playlists of all the 50s artists and bands under that name.

Twenty flight rock. The song Paul McCartney played for John Lennon to get him into the Quarrymen when they were like 14 or 15. The fact he nailed playing it on an upside-down guitar (he was left handed) and knew all the words impressed Lennon so much they went on to form the Beatles . Without Eddie Cochran,Chuck berry or other great artists from the 50s we would have been denied , in my opinion, still the greatest band of all time

Made the pilgrimage to the site of Eddie's car crash near Bath/Chippenham a couple of years ago (just a little plaque on the roadside) and listened to all the music on the way home....i admit to filling up a little. Think u tube still has the old Arena documentary on eddie made back in the 80's.

Always been into the classics of that era...most notably Holly, Presley, Berry, Little Richard etc.... some of the one-hit-wonders were decent also.
