Do you generally have a social meet before deciding whether to play? If so how often does a social progress to playing at a later date, the “strike rate” for want of a better term?

We always do a social first and the majority have ended up us organising a play in the near future.

Sometimes messaging doesn’t translate to real life though.

Always have a social, probably progresses to play (at a later date) in about 25% of cases. We only meet people we think are a serious contender, as a couple, the social dynamic is important to us.

Yes, I always have a coffee meet first. I enjoy chatting to people so I find it easy. But by the time I've agreed to meet, I've sussed them out quite a bit, with forum comments, kik, or maybe phone chat and filtered people who don't match me. I always approach the meet with the view, I can walk away and not go any further and of course they can too. I think I'm at 100%.

I'm much the same - I don't generally do distinct coffee meets, rather a coffee or drink first with the intention of playing that same meet if we click.

I prefer to spend time upfront chatting on kik and making sure there's a level of sexual / personal compatibility, so generally by the time I agree to meet someone I'm 98% sure I want to bang them! The 2% is a margin of error in case I get a bad vibe or they misrepresented themselves.

I hate kik chats, I find them quite uncomfortable and I probably come across as a total half wit!! I much prefer face to face but it just doesn’t seem to be working out great, though to be fair everyone I have met has been lovely and we’ve had a good natter!

Honestly, there's been less than a handful of times I'd say I've bypassed a social meet

It depends how long we've been chatting, even distance and gut feeling too! I've never had a spontaneous 'play' meet.

In terms of "strike rate" I'd say 50%. Perhaps I'm better on the page than real life

we usually skip the social meetd tbh (time constraints mainly) but we do spend time talking to the guys and exchanging pics.

anytime weve tried to sort a social first it never works so figured it wasnt worth it

Sometimes I would have made the odd exception depending on the circumstances but now I make sure to have a social first due to two bad experiences.

First one we had been chatting a while and ended up booking a hotel as with living a long distance from one another, travelling so far for a coffee didn't seem practical. However once we met, she had bad hygiene and bad breath which I found very off-putting. I didn't want to be overly mean by mentioning it or just walking out; so I had a few drinks and chatted then feigned illness and told her I didn't feel up to much and was just going to go home and rest in bed properly. I would have felt mean kicking her out of the hotel room even though I'd booked and paid for it, as she had no way home at that time of night so I let her have it.

Second time was an impromptu meet. Her profile said she was 37, when I got there I then discovered that the woman was not the same one in the pictures plus she was actually 53. I told her that with her being well over the age on her profile and using pictures that weren't her own that I don't take kindly to deception and that I was gobsmackedd she had received over 130 verifications for her profile in such a manner then I left straight away.

Some people may lower their standards or be desperate. Not me.

Lessons learned. Social first always, before even considering anything further even if I have to travel for the social.

A few straight to mine for coffee but again because we have chatted for a long time, spoke on camera and luckily my gut hasn't been wrong thus far

I always do social only meets at first now after a few bad experiences in my early fab days. It can be difficult to organise with busy schedules but it works better for me. I’d say about 30 - 40% progress to a play meet at another time.

I really don't have a rule.. just do what feels right.

Altough there's very very good way of filtering through ones that may not be worth a bother.

There's a special type of men who will do everything to bypass a social or won't do a social without a promise to play.

I steer clear from that type. If he doesn't respect you enough to follow a simple rule - he's not worth the time

social meet first, 100%.

"Strike rate", 100%.

Got it wrong in hindsight; 2 meets in 14 years (not giving a percentage on that one!)

must be the George Clooney effect at work. Tassimo is far superior as the capsules are not limited to one brand only so you have a wider choice and selection available. Can I entice anyone for a coffee meet to prove my point ?

But the thing is after a social ,if all are happy to have a proper meet try to arrange it quickly. Otherwise things just fizzle out.

I think coffee meets are the way foward who doesn’t love a good chat over a coffee then if there’s attraction move to next base but it so difficult to get time for a meet these days with ppl been so busy with work @ life in general

the tone of their message will normally let you know if you might like to progress to a kik chat/video call ... if they use the forum, their forum comments can also sway a decision..if I'm meeting after that then its with a view to play... life is too short for message tennis.
