Crowne plaza in Dundalk is good but is probably the most expensive around. The Imperial is the best located if you want to be in town. Avoid the carnbeg, only ok if you want cheap and it’s way out of town. The carndonagh is way out by itself in the middle of nowhere but it’s comfortable and the food is good. Clientele is pension paradise and you’ll get your fill of country music in the bar most nights.

Have had some good meets in all four though. Depends on the company you keep

Well then I recommend the crowne plaza or the imperial. Especially if you want to be close to pubs and restaurants

I suppose.. probably I've just spent too much time there so don't appreciate it that much.

If you're looking for really good food for dinner - strongly recommend art bar funkel

dundalk

In Dundalk during the day the only shopping would be the Marshes which is the same generic shopping centre as everywhere else.

Shopping wise newry has two decent sized centres that are the Quays and the Buttercrane. Might be some value in sterling.

As regards coffee shops in Dundalk, 23seats beside the courthouse is good, One Place also, and Strandfield beside the motorway is good if you like an Avoca vibe.

Hard to beat Carlingford for a spin and a visit. Great places to eat and a few boutiques.

Enjoy the wee county, and all the bold people in it.

Carrickdale is invested with Rats and if you want food poisoning then Canal court is your place. Both run down and will be shut down very soon

Try airbnb especially if there's a couple or more of you.
