Come on down...... I could get up now and put the shanks on..... But we would need to find a way to spend 5 or 6 hours while they are cooking!

No.

Fan oven.

Only because of current mpnth/climate.

Otherwise they'd be in the smoker and be cooking for 8hrs and be unbelievable

Excellent! Do let us know the link if you start again

I'll try to remember to put the pic up public tomorrow of the recipe. No promises!

The rub is interesting. Cumin, coriander, thyme and paprika but the sauce, oh mamma!

Ok , quick and very simple recipe for Hungarian goulash. Fry off loads of stewing beef ( the cheaper cuts of meat get more tender at flavoursome the longer they cook) , put in your pot or slow cooker with a couple of onions chopped , a couple of tins of chopped tomatoes, a generous splash of red wine , paprika, and beef stick made from a stock cube ( some add garlic, I don’t forcthis dish) . Cook in you slow cooker for 8/10 hours , or 2/3 hours in you pot , no need to top up the water in the slow cooker , but you’ll need to keep and eye on it if you’re doing it in a normal pot and top up the evaporated liquid . Serve with rice or mash and broccoli spears . Yum
