Email lookin for money

Anyone any experience with these types of emails ?

Got one stating that the knew my email and my passwords...

Which they had the password i use for this site .

How ??? Ive no idea ...

Anyway they say they've hacked my phone and camera and know all porn sites ive visited and have videos of me .. they want me to send $1000 or they'll leak information to my family and friends from my Facebook watsapp addresses etc ..

I deleted the email and changed my password on here .

And dont expect to hear anymore..

But still a little nagging doubt in my mind ... how did the know my password for here i dont use it for anything else ... ?

Anyone any similar tales ???

Yeah, I got 3/4 of those messages. Even a guy from Microsoft rang my phone saying there's a problem with my computer! I told the to go fuck themselves!!! It's just a scam. Change your password just in case.

Do you use the same pass word for other sites? If so they probably got a list stolen from a hacked or fake site.

Change every pass word you have on every site straight away. Use different ones for every site. Ideally write them on a sheet of paper to remember them.

And change them regularly.

Just delete the message but in a few weeks they will try it again saying this is your last chance you have 48h I deleted it again it's now been over a mounth

It's just a scam. They have no idea what sites you've been on. They just bought data breach information of other sites and since people usually use the same password for every site, emailed you making you think they know.

Change passwords for everything you have afterwards.

You should have a password manager, all your passwords should be like 20 characters long, and a different one for every site. The passwords should be stored encrypted in the password manager.

Also, these messages are targeting muslim men in particular. Muslim men in a lot of countries can be murdered for wanking online.

It means your email address has been compromised on another site and you use the same password across multiple accounts.

The hacker is now trawling all sites and inputting your email and password to see if the account is accessible. It serves the hacker no real value to change your account info, they just want money.

My advice, change your password and use different passwords across your online accounts!! Is laziness that gets accounts hacked.
