Toxic masculinity

My mother taught me to respect woman.

These days whenever I hold a door open or offer my seat on the bus to a woman I get the death stare or an accusatory tutt.

My gentlemanship is being confused by women as toxic masculinity. Just can’t win these days.

Can any woman here offer any reasonable opinion as to why some of you have turned into snarling moo moo cows when men are genuinely trying to be gentlemen?

Just get over it. If anyone male or female holds a door open for me I say thanks. If I'm offered a seat I say thanks. And I would always offer a seat on a bus etc

Manners is just manners, work with men and women and quite a few of them don't have manners it's the generation we live in.

I have an ex who used to hold the door open for everyone, I mean everyone if he was near a door. Then if one would fail to say "thanks" he would suddenly go all uppity and shout at them "you're welcome".

Could never understand his logic...

You don't have to hold the doors open as much as someone doesn't have to interact with you if they don't want to.

Do little favours for random strangers out of your own goodness within and never expect anything back. It's much more pleasant to get an unexpected kind word from a stranger than wait for it and not receive it.

You can still choose be a gentleman even if the other person doesn’t want you to be.

Personally I always thank anyone for holding a door or opening one for me etc. I choose to be polite.

I'm a gentleman to everyone, young, old, male, female ...I would hold the door open for all. I'm not doing it for approval or reward, being nice is just the right thing to do. If someone doesn't like it, it's their problem not mine. End of today's sermon.

For a long as humanity existed some women have always been snarling moo moo cows, not that I've ever seen a cow snarling.

Hold the door open if you feel it's the polite thing to do.

If you're just looking for thanks then you're not doing it for the right reason.

Opening a door or offering up a seat is just respect and good manners... so if someone takes exception to that, maybe they need to look at themselves

Myself, I grew up thinking that being a gent or "nice" was a weakness only to later realise that it's a man's greatest strenght, as a gentleman knows...

- when to say "Please" "Thank you" and "Excuse me"

- when & how to use his charm

- and when to bear his teeth

A gentleman is not "A GENTLE MAN" as some seem to think So, always best to carry yourself with class but don't take any nonsense either

"Why do guys who politely are thanked on fab told not interested have to be rude or nasty. It happens it shouldn't happen. Only solution block and move on."

What has that got to do with the op's question? Personally if I held the door for someone (male or female as I frequently do) and they were obnoxious in their response I'd just as quickly tell them to fuck right off and when they finish fucking right off they can then fuck right off some more.

Stop holding the door for them then. I only do stuff I would do for a guy.

I do hold doors open, but for germ reasons, I dont wait for a thanks, I let it go and walk off.

The most beautiful thing in the world is a woman who is your equal. In spain recently the women went out and sat with the men, knowing the police would come and smack them about, knowing there was nothing the men could do to stop it, that the men would be getting smacked around too.

It was an amazing show by the barca women that they were equal to men, that they would stand toe to toe with them on all the struggles.

DO you know how Irish femminists reacted?

"oh my god how can a police man pull a womans hair".

Irish feminists are so weak it disgusts me, and will run to the kitchen at the fist sign of danger. They will insult you for opening the door or offering to pay for the meal, and also insult you for not stopping someone from assaulting them.

But oh well, at least they can kill their own babies.

Yeah, just thinking the same.

Where did this vitriol come from?

Any Garda/ policeman that smacked anyone about for no reason could be done for assault. I think the poster hasn't given the full context of his post, so hard to determine.

As for the Irish feminists comments
