"What do you mean by "best""
cheapest. I'm sure it differs from men to women. My insurance is gone up nearly 100 this year.

There is no one "cheapest" company. It depends on so many things. I got a commercial policy from Liberty a few years ago for €660, including open driving. I had no claims during the year but the renewal for the following year was €1900. Many of them will try to get you on board with all sorts of discounts and hope that you won't bother looking around the following year. Also age, experience, size and age of vehicle, location, gender and what the vehicle is used for are all factors that are taken into account.

Cheapest that I've seen might be fluxdirect, plus if you do a limited amount of miles per year you can have that taken into consideration which may reduce the overall cost

I was told only yesterday that my insurance should be coming down, not going up. I don't get how your insurance can be x price one year, nothing changes but it rises the year after.

Always shop around. It’s a pain in the ass. But worth it in the end.

Always shop around and there's no straight answer who's the cheapest because it depends on so many factors, even your profession is a factor, ie try to get decent car insurance as an actor is almost impossible, why nobody knows.

Last autumn my former car ins gave me a quote of over 1000. The 'cheap' car insurance like 123 wouldn't even give me a quote because my car is over 10years old. Eventually got a good quote for 580 from allianz. So agsin always shop around, loyalty doesn't pay off anymore.

Yeah it needs tighter regulation, I have like 12 years of no claims bonus, they will only count 5, but every year it goes up.

I know people and their insurance companies have paid out on claims they never knew about. Put their insurance up and taken away their no claims bonus without ever even contacting them, without them ever being in a crash.

I heard a taxi driver had a claim put in by two drug addicts, said they were a passanger in his car 2 years ago, and are only putting the claim in now. He has no recollection of them at all.

The police dont do anything either, you can have video evidence someone is faking their side of the story, and they will just be told you have video and that will be the end of it, they should be sent to jail.

But sure what to expect when the cops are up to it too. How many cops right now are out "injured", doing the scam where they work all overtime hours possible, in the shortest period possible, until they legally cant do any more overtime, then getting "injured" so their loss of earnings are higher than they should be.

Or the cop who I feel bad for who got a 25k claim because he had to talk to someone with a gun etc etc.

Insurance companies want to get you in the door so they'll often cut the price the first time around. Mine went dien again this year for the second year in a row but only by about €25 or so. I'm paying €850 for a light truck with open driving and have never had a claim in my 35 years of driving, thankfully.

I shop around every year, switched to Allianz 3 years ago and their renewal has been the most competitive since, my insurance has gone down in the last couple of years.

Exactly, the providers are relying on people's apathy, loyalty is penalised rather than being rewarded.

"have never had a claim in my 35 years of driving, thankfully. "

They only count the last 5, there are people out there having one big crash every 5 years paying less than you.

My sister had over 30k claim against her, and pays less than me. I never had any.

Yup, these are facts of life. It still makes me happy to know that I've never had a collision in 35 years.

Your insurance will go down if you have two named drivers on policy if no partner put family members on espcially women but must have clean licence etc.

Try it..

Here or There

Ring your insurance company and say you’ve been quoted a lower price on a web comparison site be realistic with the value like 50-80€ cheaper. I guarantee they’ll come back with a better offer to you.

Get quotes in early before your deadline - that way you are getting deals cause they know ur shopping around and want ur business

Leave it to the last one or two days before your renewal date and they ll give feck all discount

does the way you describe your job make a difference, I’m a welder but could also be described as a factory worker,
