Not so happy Xmas...

As we get closer to the madness I want to send mahussive hugs to those that have lost people this year or around Christmas time. We have had it and it's awful trying to keep the smile on your face when all you want to do is ignore the world. We will have afew empty chairs this year and we will be raising a glass to those not with us anymore. So I hope you all remember your loved ones with a smile and Christmas goes by as well as it can.

Tough time. Lost my mam last year aged early 50s after a 6.5 year fight with ovarian cancer a little over 3 weeks before Christmas.

Only for the 3 grandkids it would have been completely skipped

nice post I've lost both my parents a year apart from each other a couple of year's ago,all my friends and family have married and moved away so Christmas for me is spent on my own,but im not complaining I have my health,my rugged good looks and a good sence of humour, and of course I have all my good loyal great fab friends,so I'd like to wish you all a very very happy Christmas.

Nice thread OP.

This will be my first Christmas since my partner passed away.

Luckily I will be surrounded by family members this Christmas but my partner shall still be deeply missed.

Hope you all have as good an Xmas as possible.

Excellent posts, we all have people to think of and remember at Christmas, but can I add a special thought..... it's easy sometimes to get caught up in the excitement and party atmosphere of christmas....but a special thought for those who are overcome with sadness and despair, for whatever reason at this time ... I know many people who close their doors, blocking out the outside world, so it's important to call on them to make sure they are ok.... Happy Christmas everybody

Thoughts to our neighbours in Ireland from England with this post.

Around this time last year saw my now 11 year old say goodbye to his mam.

As much as she and I had split many years ago it doesn't stop me missing her with all of my heart and this time of year now has very little meaning other than to keep a smile on our sons face. xx

Excellent post OP.

Whilst most of us enjoy Christmas in one way or another I always remember loved ones who are no longer with us.

I also think of all of those who are struggling with loss or life itself.

Wishing anyone who is struggling lots of LOVE and EMPATHY at this difficult time and I offer a listening ear if anyone feels like they would like to talk.
