To be fair its 9am if you forget the honey, cloves and hot water you should be flying by lunch

Do you have any herbs at home? Thyme and sage are the best for the sore throat. Dried or raw... Half spoon of each one pour the boiling water, cover the mug for 10 mins then drink it with a bit of honey. You can also add a sprinkle of turmeric and ginger powder. It works perfect!

Ginger, lemon juice and honey.

Soak the Ginger in boiling water for awhile. Strain into a cup. Add juice of half a lemon and a good squeeze of honey. Drink this tea a few times a day and it usually clears up a sore throat.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Went for the Jameson, honey, ginger and cloves combo!!

Luckily I don’t have the man flu, wouldn’t be here to tell the tale!!

If there's no other symptoms of a cold - ice cream and anything freezing cold to numb the pain and reduce the inflammation in your throat. Leave whiskeys for the evening

I’ve actually heard that before that I’ve cream is good for sore throats!! Don’t know if the whiskey and lemon has helped my throat but it has definitely cleared my sinuses!

I usually heal myself with ice cold sangria. Bit of a hangover next day but everything else clears out so not the worst thing in the world

Another thing that helps with the throat is : water, salt and lemon to gargle.

Both salt and lemon have properties as disinfectant and anti inflammatory.

Water, vinegar and salt will do to.

However... They take time to provide relief, differently than medicine that contains numbing ingredients to ease the pain faster... (they don't cure... Just anaesthetised the area)

A lump of butter dipped in sugar.. Trust me, it works.. But it's also so disgusting you won't mention to anyone that you have a sore throat... Lol
