All depends in the type of one you get are rubbish. Try get one with the apps already installed. Although kodi don't offer support anymore but there is plenty of support on related forums on the subject. I bypassed getting a box and used an old mobile and a cast the content.

I got a Walker box a few years ago and have no complaints, you can also get a WiFi key board for it which makes it very handy to use.
