Lots of people put “don’t mail me if you’re in the area with work” but a good bit of time I am in the area with work

Any tips for a genuine guy who travels a bit with work for how to approach this issue.

Maybe giving lots of notice??

I’m not sure? Or offer house visits from a guy in snickers pants, work boots and a high viz jacket

Or do people just not like guys who are only passing through?

Some are okay to do a one off with someone random in the area at a given time, others are not looking for that type of thing.

Theres no need to go around anything. We all have our own rules.

If you really are (not you think you are) what some are looking for and vice versa - it will work out naturally.

Its a tricky one, if they determined that this is an issue then what you say is never going to change that fact... feel your pain though i only work here but its a regular thing so can be misinterpreted too...

Faint heart and all that. Try your best, whats the worst that could happen?? Another block from someone who wasnt going to meet you anyway

Cork / Wexford

I travel around ireland and have hotel over nighters. Mostly not meeting even for a social. It ain't easy for us guys on the road.

Only thing you can do, I think is plenty of notice and if in the same area regularly why not do a social meet.

No need to be passing through then, just order and wait for your delivery.

I wonder how much tip to give the driver?

Some people think persistence pays

My tip would be,if they state

"don’t mail me if you’re in the area with work",then don't mail them,no matter how good your intentions are.

Respect what they say.

I have turned off my location for this reason. As the crow flies I live quite close to a busy motorway service stop. I was getting endless offers from truckers and passer bys looking to meet for a quick blow and go. Jesus do I really look the type for that carry on!

“I’m in the area” for me means, “I want to arrive to your gaff, despite us never having met or spoken, and unload on or into you.” (Or, he wants me to, never having met or spoken, arrive to his hotel room.) That wouldn’t work for me, as the taboo or naughtiness of this is of zero appeal. However, if he were regularly in the area, and if we’d met socially to see if there’s a click, then....
