I know it was aimed at children in the main but Animaniacs was class, the amount of innuendo they got away with was brilliant. Dustin the Turkey was similar in that he got away with a lot that wouldn't be tolerated these days.

Monday night comedy used to be good on Network 2 also. You could get Married With Children, Father Ted, possibly Don't Feed The Gondolas and A scare at bedtime with Podge and Rodge all on the same night.

That would be followed up by a young Sharon ní Bheoláin reading the late night news on 2 which young Karl_hungus liked a lot.

The final countdown, Michael Lester, horse racing, ail rugby, fa cup finals, circuit of Ireland rallying etc. It was the standard of sports broadcasting you'd expect from your state run TV station.

Used to follow soccer scores on Aertel though.

Anyone recall Lenny Abrahamson's series Prosperity from around 2006

I'd love to see it again but don't think Rte ever ran it again and never released it on dvd.

Bachelors Walk was decent if I remember right too.

Upwardly Mobile and The Cassidys less so.
