"oddly enough i remember when fab deleted comments that were in Irish. One of the moderators at the time (who I think may lost her moderating badge as a result) "joked" that the Irish might be chatting about planting bombs and they had to stop that. Several lead balloons later and the site accepted that Irish was acceptable. But it's still a reminder this is a UK run site with all that entails " Cé chomh uafasách. An labhraimid Gaeilge ???

"Happy to answer. It's a UK run site. There are (as far as i know) no Irish moderators. The downside of that was illustrated by the Irish language issue i mentioned above. The people running the site didnt realise how offensive banning Irish language would be. Nor did they realise how much worse joking that the use of Irish would be cover for planting bombs in the UK would be. They didnt get it because they are not Irish. That's my point. Btw there are also advantages to the mods been UK based. I've had poor experiences on swing4ireland years back because the moderators are Irish and used their local knowledge to protect their friends and abuse their friends "enemies". So by no means am I suggesting UK moderators are a bad thing. It removes the likelihood of favouritism and increases the likelihood of impartial moderating. I'm simply pointing out the fact that it limits their ability to understand a different culture and country. " Thanks Tom I don't know why the other poster feels I should know that already,I appreciate you answering

" That is a total lie on both counts and should be ignored. To another point, it doesn't matter where a mod is from, they will mod to the site rules no matter who is posting or where they are from.
