Any recommendations for bars/hotels in Galway or Dublin this weekend that are not a rip off?

Well if you want to avoid a rip off in a bar then Id say you're better off in Galway than Dublin....

Stay away from temple bar and I think local pubs are OK.

I think one of the bars on Harcourt St has beer for €2 Friday night until 10pm. Not Coppers but on the same side.

Other than that, stay to the older, traditional pubs and you should be ok.
