"All I did was ask about the blasphemy referendum on Friday. OK, I put 'Jesus is a C U Next Tuesday' in the topic headline, but is that an offense on here? I've seen that word a quite few times in comments on the forums. I've read the rules and it says nothing about bad language, just racism, badmouthing etc. Maybe there's a member on here who goes by the name of 'Jesus' and he reported me " There's plenty of cunts too

"Maybe it fell into the X Files never to be seen again Curious now, what was the point you were trying to make (without any references to Tuesday) Humming what if god was one of us " Ah it wasn't anything of great significance. I was just pondering the idea that while it's been a relatively unenforced law, if it happened to be voted to be kept in the constitution, would there be a bit of pressure to start enforcing it? The headline I used was just a reference to a Cradle of Filth t-shirt which was banned in some countries during the 90's and even led to some arrests for just wearing it. There was even an incident in New Zealand in 2015 over the t-shirt. There's a Rolling Stone article about it titled, 'The Most Controversial Shirt in Rock History'.

"Every Irish national has the right to express themselves as set down in law. What you have said, is not expressing yourself but rather, making a statement which, to some people, is offensive. I may believe in God and it’s teachings and I may find what you have written as offensive. You have no rights as an Irish citizen to make the statement you have and believe that you have some entitlement to free speech as we don’t have ‘free speech’ in any law in Ireland. In my opinion, Fab is not the place to have political or religious debates and they are best left elsewhere. On Voting day, I will be voting no. Why? Well it’s my right as a citizen to exercise a process that has been given to me and I value that right as if I don’t, I cannot sit back and complain when I’m not happy about something that can change the lives of people in Ireland. Some countries, don’t allow people to vote or they tell them what they should vote. Secondly, I believe that changing this will lead to Dáil Éireann to enact legislation to make certain groups of people or a majority of people who feels that something that is said as a hate speech. Essentially, if a person said that the leader of Fine Gael is an Indian and a majority of people found that to be insulting, that person could be tried in a court under the law. It wouldn’t matter that they were actually Indian or had Indian heritage, it would be just that a majority of people found it offensive. That probably doesn’t make any sense but that’s it in a nutshell. Anyway, back to your point, have an opinion and respect the opinion of the other person as they should respect yours, however, someone’s opinion should not be rammed down the throat of someone because you feel you are right. " Sorry, I missed the part of my post where I tried to ram an opinion down someones throat as you say. There's no such thing as offensive content. Only people who choose to be offended.

" I already explained that the 'Tuesday' thing was a reference to a banned t-shirt in the 90's. I never said I believed that statement. But this is the point I was making: You took that statement out of context and took offense to it. It wasn't directed at you or anyone else with the intention of causing hurt. Am I supposed to feel bad about that even though there was no malice in it from my part? Ok, I admit, my comment about 'people choosing to be offended' comes across as a bit dickhead-ish. Big fail on my part. I hold my hand up. I suppose the point I was trying to get across with that comment was that people can claim anything offends them, therefore, are we supposed to be careful in everything we say or do because one person may perceive it as an insult directed at them? Look man, I have no bad feeling towards you and I'd never be that arrogant to tell anyone they're wrong in what they believe or how they live their lives. I just have concerns about how we're progressing as a society when a person could potentially have their life turned upside down over a throw away statement or opinion that some may find 'offensive'.
