"To lose weight " Ok its just its used medically also. Meh it will work in the same way all diets work. It goves you focus and structure. But for long term health as a poster above said a more balanced diet will work better. If you are doing it remember fattier foods still means lean meats not pork belly every night

"It's a terrible diet. In what way ?" Some important things in your body are made from protein, normally your body dips into fat as an energy reserve, in keto it will dip into things in your body made from protein. Feel free to experiment, but I wouldnt have it as a life style, unless you're an eskimo.

"Hi all just wondering if anyone has tried or is on the Keto diet and do you think it's worth doing ? Thanks in advance Mrs lick " I have given up all starchy foods like potatoes, cornflour, sugar and all kinds of bread and pasta over a year ago replacing them with home cooked meals of all kinds of meat and mountains of vegetables drowned in real butter. Now and then I do have my weak days and just stuff my face with buns and crisps but them days are far and few. Since I've done that - I'm almost never hungry or tired, physically I'm a lot stronger and lost a bunch of weight. Bonus points: my IBS is gone away with mood swings. Nowadays I think twice before touching any highly processed, rich in carbs food as I know that within minutes I'll get a stomach ache followed by lethargic mood. There's a show on Netflix called "The Magic Pill" - really worth a watch

"All ‘diets’ are short term cons. Learning to eat healthy and well for your body’s needs is far more important than a diet. Yes some things work for some people but only at a cost to their bodies. Vegetarian and vegan diets are an ethical choice that require much monitoring and good practise to ensure essential micros are being adequately compensated for. Kudos to anyone able to sustain that ethical choice. Find a nutritionist or PT who can advise on your basal metabolic rate and how to put it into reduction to make healthy weight loss. Include it with exercise for the only real way to turn to healthy living, " And sleep. The importance of good quality sleep can't be stressed enough when it comes to weight loss, maintaining weight loss and overall body health.
