Ya its really affected Dublin in the last few years

Would love to see an open draw but the provincial boards will never allow that... super 8's were a good step

Super 8 are goid but after few yr it will just be like a div 1 /2/3 system ...and get boring ..open draw would be great

I like the idea of an open draw and a proper knockout situation although I know we'll never go back to that. It can create fantastic excitement. The Dublin/Meath saga that brought the country to a standstill in '91 would be meaningless in today's championship.

You all know it's not dublin football that is at fault for the rest of Leinster been so bad .why don't they do the same .10 yrs ago when everyone way beating them they put underage structures in place .ex players got involved and the rest is history ...and as for the money thing or population thing ..it's not relevant...it's the coaching they get as kids from hard working guys at club level that don't get a cent.

Old saying... it's not the size of the dog that counts ..it's the fight..thats in the dog ..so Esther counties get your act together

Ps .never hear anyone comment on Kerry's dominance in Munster for years and years .just meet to beat Clare and they are in the final again this year..

Unless football gets rid of the provincial championships it’s going to get left behind. Hopefully the new rules will make a difference to the muck over the last few years.

Nothing wrong with the football today .Donegal manager is right .he doesn't agree with all these new changes .You will need 5 referees.. Can't manage rules as it is ..back in the 80s.championship matches were often single score results. Or example. 1_10 to 0_ 11..look at this year's semi finals and finals and the scores the 4 teams put up ....they tried changing before to try to nullify Cluxton kick outs .now they trying again .lol...it's a joke

Yeah Dublin laid out the blueprint and it costs nothing but time and dedication to follow. They did a great job getting clubs to go to schools and train with kids, I seen the change happen and I could see it transforming the ability.

The way people go on you would think the GAA is building gyms on every street corner and paying for everyone to go to the gym and personal trainers for them all, and their diet paid for.

Dublin have a huge advantage over other counties with population alone. Around 2002 plans were put in place with cash injections into Dublin GAA... they are reaping the rewards now. You have your superclubs at hurling and football, your county team is a shoe-in for the all Ireland, I think it’s more than just hard work that got you there

If carlow can improve more this year they could fight for a leinster final spot. I know they wouldn't win it but nothing special in there side of the draw.

"Coast to coast...didn't hear anyone from Kilkenny saying get rid of provincial championship when they were winning it every year. "

Kilkenny hurlers often said that there were not enough games to training ratio, so in fact as a county are in favour of scrapping provincials.

However, scrapping the provincials in football is badly needed more so than the hurling provincials. It may not be needed in hurling as much as it’s more competitive.

A Kerry Cork Munster Final- yawn- Dublin anyone Leinster final- Yawn- Any combo in Ulster- Yawn and Connaught take it or leave if.

Munster hurling final any combo- thrilling.

At the moment Leinster hurling final, Kilkenny Galway, intriguing, Kilkenny Wexford, enthralling, Wexford Galway, tactical, Dublin are not that far away in Leinster.

In summary, Gaelic football- scrap the provincials.

Hurling- keep provincials, but need a 2nd ref and 2 extra linesman game is gone so fast.
