Same it's a nightmare! We use... college friends, work friends, birthdays, christenings, weddings etc etc . If the nosy feckers would just stop asking questions we would be grand

We nearly always say staying in Killarney as familiar with a lot of the spots and accommodation there, if we're asked any questions about how was our night away we can spoof away.

Never really use a babysitter for X amount of hours as like to have the freedom to allow night to unfold into the small hours

Have some friends who say they are going on the timeshare/investment/Franchise gig it works for them.

Thankfully we're past the stage of needing babysitters from outside the house. Kids are old enough to mind themselves but my daughter keeps an eye on things

We just say we're having a night away or that we're going to a friend of Niall's birthday/anniversary party

Haha we were just chatting about this last night lol. Ours, we just say heading for drinks or meeting work clients.

My children have this private joke among themselves. When I tell them I'm having friends around... They take it I'm having a swinging party... Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm not as busy swinging as they think I am.

We tell so many lies, have used allsorts of excuses. We were asked why do we never have any pictures from are big nights out. Lol.

Same problem. We only play when we have been given the whole night off by family and have the house to ourselves or a hotel booked.

It can be difficult when they think your just gonna have a quiet night in and then they change the day slightly at the last minute. It’s not like we can say ‘but we’ve arranged for billybigcock from fab to come over’.

Doesn’t help either when your mother in law is like Sherlock Holmes and your wife couldn’t tell a lie to save her life.
