Judging by a few threads on the forums. I believe that Newbies or perhaps people that don't post much on the forums are treated a lot differently than the more frequent posters.

Oh I know that few use the forums. But those that do regularly seem to think they own it.

A small percentage use the forum and if you become popular you can have fun with them.

A small percentage use the chat, and if you become popular you can have fun with them.

A small percentage read both, and wont meet anyone who uses either.

A small percentage read both and will meet people they like but never post themselves.

A small percentage read neither.

"Judging by a few threads on the forums. I believe that Newbies or perhaps people that don't post much on the forums are treated a lot differently than the more frequent posters."

--------------------------------

100% agree with you Op

When I came on the forums first, I felt that I had to be so careful about every word I typed as each time I posted something.. the same 1 or 2 people (with an additional two or three white knights ) would take exception to every comment I made. Think Fab pirhanas

So the day I stopped giving a shit about how others would react to my comments was my most liberating day on FAB ever Since then, I decided taht I'm not going to type anything for the sake of getting attention or a possible meet which seems to be a tact used by some here...

Instead, I'll always type what's on my mind and if you don't like it too bad if you want to chat, great and if you just want to attack or take exception to it...

...Well then let's be having you!

Best to remember though that the people you meet here on the forums... you'll probably meet in person at a social so it's nice to be nice here

Agree wholeheartedly,a lot of people here are so far up their rear end it's unreal.there are some fantastic people here, and I've made some real friends here, both recently and when I was here as kilkennyguy, but there are some real 'keyboard warriors' too that pounce on any newcomer that's not part of the clique

I'm still relatively new and have had no rudeness on forum's or in messages. I do find that my messages get ignored most of the time but I just maybe I'm not what the other person is looking for and perhaps I'm also too green in the gills. The "old hands" likely know each other as they are regular posters and therefore they respond to each other more frequently. Don't take it personally OP

Its a case of people knowing each other so of course they are going to be more reactive to each other.

Any time I have come and gone from fab it takes awhile to get back into the swing of things.
