I’m off them 19 years and maybe once every 2 years I get a craving .... just don’t compensate them with food is my only advice ... plenty of sucky sweets will help ...fair play life changing decsison and you won’t smell like an ashtray either ... can’t beat the nice smell of

Perfume or aftershave on someone

Day 5 for me and up the walls - going cold turkey. Running is helping me though and gets rid of the nervous energy in the evenings. Best of luck with it!

Drug called champix will help. Its prescription one so you would have to see GP and ask for it.

There's a lot of side effects from Champix.

I tried champix and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Cold turkey is the only way to go.

It's worth the struggle, you've done a week which proves you can live without them.

What helped me was the fact that after 3-4 days all the nicotine is out of your system and after 7-9 days your body's physical dependence on nicotine is gone. After that it's all in your head.

I just kept reminding myself that I could have a cigarette anytime I wanted but I'm gonna chose not to.

I think a big problem with quitting is that most of the time we do it because we think we should rather than because we want to and we feel like we are depriving ourselves of something we enjoy.

You just need to get into a mindset that you are not depriving yourself, you are deciding that you don't want to do this anymore.

I found running helped. Get out there and open them lungs. I could run for 2 mins without my lungs being on fire. 9 months later i could do 6km without stoping or needing water. U can do it

www. It, if cold turkey isnt working research has suggested that a combo of the gum spray or patch helps you they give you a higher % chance to stop. There are even support groups you can go to. However if youdo start again dont beat yyourself up either as nicotine is one of the hardest things to give up! Good luck
