Hants

Increasing the distance to 3.8K today. Wish me luck as this is the start of a long road from injury. Looking for a 5-10K to do over the next few months in the greater Belfast area if anyone has any suggestions.

Just back running after a hip injury. Can’t do more than 5k or it flares up again. Just happy to be able to get out again though.

5km is loads , don’t over do it , slowly slowly wins the race every time when coming back from injury,

What half are you doing? Best of luck with DCM. Were you in the Phoenix park on Saturday for the half?

Waterford in December, no that half was too soon only back running yesterday, looked like a good day for it.

I trained alongside a friend a few years back prior to her doing the Belfast marathon because her regular partner had gotten an injury. We never did more than 19 miles as she said the final 7 or so were for the race itself only. Something about a personal push for the finish line. Is this a regular thing? I never looked into it

Yeah, it's a normal thing, they say you get 5 miles from the buzz of the day but in my experience it's a bit less

Been a while since we spoke about the training.

How’s everyones training going? Training in particular for anything special?

Any new pbs? I have 3 mins off my 10k time, probably about 4 off my 5k time. Been training hard and aiming to smash my 1/2 marathon time this year.

Casa Del Fun

I (F) cover a minimum of 10k each day (lunchtime), while T covers her 5....

My timings have come down a little the last few months due to Ill health (chronic sinus) but I still get out and maintain myself.

Timings pre sinus was 41/42 mins per 10k, now it’s 43/44

About to ‘crawl out’ soon, anyone wanna tag along?
