If anything he has benefited Ireland.

He has not taxed any products coming from Ireland. He is going to try and make it easier for multi nationals in America to open headquarters in Ireland while passing their profit back to Ireland.

We do not compete with America in any way in the production of any jobs or goods, except probably Whiskey.

The simple fact is American people voted for a slow down in people coming into the country, and a slow down of jobs leaving the country. If you watch twitter the amount of videos of factories shutting down and moving across to mexico is insane, its absolutley crazy.

He was voted in to slow it down and put a stop to it, and he has been a success. He has done things Obama said impossible.

On all his other policies he has done what Clinton/Bush/Obama would have done. He wanted to take a softer stance on Russia, but was forced to take the hardest stance ever. He wanted to pull out of syria, but was forced to bomb syria. Both things Clinton and Obama wanted. He wanted to finish the wall, something Clinton started and Obama freed up more resources for.

He is behind track to deport as many people as Obama did, but again, he is in line with Clinton, Obama and Bush on deportation policy.

End of the day I think we should totally respect and support what the American people voted for. I think we should treat a planned coup on their president as if it was going to happen to Obama and JFK and hand over any intelligence the EU has on the matter to them so they can find and arrest the people responsible.

I can understand people who export steel or something else that is to get taxed being annoyed, but really on the scale of things, this is low level thing to be annoyed about. We have no god given right to sell our steel to them or any other product, and they should always try and get the best deal for their own country that they can, and not the best deal for us.

Its telling that the Drump supporters just yell 'economy!' And then insults. Firstly, there is no evidence that his policies are in any way responsible for the strong economy, its been growing steadily since 2010 as has the world economy in general. But even if he is responsible fir it, dies that justify the utter immorality of the man, daily scamdals, paying off porn stars, being implicated by his closest advisors in actual crimes, overt racism and attacking alliances that have stood since 1945 and embracing Vladimir Putin one of if not the greatest enemy the western word has?? The economy is booming but people ignore the fact Amazon workers get govt assistance as their pay is so low. Walmart wprkers the same. Teachers in the u.s finding themselves getting second jobs to try make up for their shit wages. Shambolic wages in many industries that are far below a living wage. Capitalism at its finest. Federal workers denied pay rises whilst military spending goes through the roof. A setting up of another branch of the military which isn't needed. People unable to pay health insurance such is the high cost of it . These aren't exclusively Trump problems mind you. It is a sign of the gap between those who have and have not in the U.S. The American dream is a nightmare for many. The education system with 3rd level is a very prohibitive process. The loan system students need to use if they are not wealthy is a disgusting vulture on the students of America.

I can see by many of the responses on these threads people are only aware of what they are being told of American life through left or right wing outlets.

The reality is life is exceptionally tough for many in the states. The vets that are supposedly thought of so well when the military is mentioned with regard to national security are treated like shit when they exit the military. Many end up with mental health issues and subsequently become homeless . Little to no support is given and these "patriots" are left to rot at the side of the road once they have passed their use-by date.

There are sides to America that are fantastic. There are places in America that are unforgettable but amongst all the wealth and worship of the Kardashians/Trump/Kanye West etc lies a very very sad reality for many. Vegas. Los Angeles.. San Fran.. many areas of the south.. New York and many more have serious issues with regard to homelessness .

When it is being pushed that the American economy is at its strongest it has ever been Lady Liberty would be sick at the thought of it's most vulnerable citizens being cast aside with scant regard for their lives.
