Crazy wedding!!

Okay so I have been invited to a wedding - I really don't want to go it's my childhood best friend and his future wife doesn't like me. They gave me a plus one knowing I am single. I'd love to bring the hottest lad I know just to have them gossiping (just as a friends but let them think others) and takers (his sister and wife to be have been horrible to me over the last few years and would like them to think I am doing well. I am in every other aspect of my life) (i know desperate pley!!

You don't need the approval of his wife or his sister. People can be shitty to each other for myriad reasons.

You are leaving them get to you which is what they want. Regardless of bringing a hot lad for the sake of it you would know the truth and ultimately it is only yourself you need to be happy for .

Indulging in the negative mindset of bringing someone to piss someone off isn't fair on the guy who invited you to the wedding.

A plus 1 is there as a crutch if you are feeling socially awkward. It isn't there as a revenge mechanism.

Go yourself.. glam up.. get your hair done. Walk in smile wide with a glint in your eye.

The confidence to be there by yourself is much more of a thorn in the side than a fake date as turning up on your own shows you are happy with who you are both to them and most importantly to yourself.

If it seems too much just leave the wedding off would be my advice.

Hope you enjoy yourself if you go !

If you are really sure his future wife does not like you and as his family are nasty to you then, politely decline the invitation. Don't go. Instead, have a nice special day out for yourself and your own child who you love and who loves you. Or, indulge in a Spa day for yourself. And feck them!

As someone else just said why would you bother going at all? Wedding's are very expensive between money in a card, dolling yourself up and the day itself. Why waste all that money on people you don't even like and that are horrible to you keep your money spend it on a great day out for you and your child. If he was such a good friend he wouldn't be allowing them treat you like shit

Tough one, but I would think that you owe it to your friend to be there and the big question is why the others don't "approve" of you .... Maybe there is a threat or jealousy lurking behind all this, and therefore by not going is pissing your friend off and giving his Mrs the opportunity to talk bad of you to him.... I would think that you go and behave like a true friend and not allow them more ammo..... Oh, and take a fabber if it'll ease any pressure

If it’s a childhood friend, you owe to him for the sake of your friendship to go. Who cares if his wife to be or family like or approve of you. You were invited by your friend, therefore you should go. It doesn’t matter a fuck if you are a single mother or a married mother, you are a mother and someone liking you or not liking you will never change that. Bring a chap with you, go to the Church or whatever, onto the reception, conduct yourself in a quiet manner, enjoy yourself and slip off out of the place by half eleven without a word while everyone else is off their faces. Why cause a fuss or try and upstage her on her day. Anyway, go, have a great time and get to know the chap your bringing.

I should be there for him he is mmore like a brother to me than a friend. His girlfriend couldn't deal and can't deal with how close we were. We slept in the same bed if we stayed in each other's houses. If would never bother us seeing each other naked. He cleaned up my drinking messes and slagged me after. When I was down he always picked me back up and I done the same for him till she came along. His sister is just bat shit crazy doesn't talk to 90% of the people in the village (she fell out with me cause I got sick and couldn't be her bridesmaid for her wedding, I am godmother to her child and I still send her presents for birthday Christmas and every first she does). All my friends will be there at the wedding so I'd like to bring someone no one knows to create gossip because they will gossip either way.

The village will gossip it should of been me and him, girl next door thing, best friends sense we could pick each other noses not even our own!

Others will gossip I am on my own has she no other friends she can bring or is she holding out for her ex.

Others will gossip I went.

Will gossip if I don't go.

So why shouldn't I give them something to gossip about

I know its confusing and messy
