It's decent. I'd say I ended up talking to more people on there than on here.

Cliquey and you will get hounded worse than on here if they don't like you.

It's also probably a bit more dangerous than this site, I know several girls who joined up fresh bambis, had some abusive thing against their will happen, or got beaten too hard too fast, and logged off and never came back, without the community giving a shit, and they will watch it happen to new people over and over and say nothing.

I was on it for a while as I have a particular little kink so I thought I'd see what it was like.

It's ok for connecting with like minded individuals and I've had a few chats with some cool people, men and women, but I wouldn't be depending on it to get a meet unless you are already in on the scene as, just like on here, you need to show that not only are you genuine, but also that you can be trusted.

Just because you have a fetish and someone else has the same one, doesn't make getting a meet any easier.

It's no easier than here, in fact I would say it's probably harder.

But having said all that, it is quite nice to chat with people with similar interests so if you're content with just that, then by all means sign up and see what it has to offer.

I would say that if you just want to meet people nsa then your better off here. But if you are very into kink or have some niche fetishes/you'd like to learn more about kink/fetishes then fetlife is a great place to learn.

It's very similar to Facebook in its profile layout, timeline, and friending system but the events are fun and there's a munch for every interest.

yup it's a great site for exploring the fetish here in ireland. will give you information on events and our closest munch.

for the naysayers of it maybe give it some time. also it isn't full of predators (most of been ed out of the scene bar one or two and they are well known and most newbies are warned of them) or people who call the cops on you (know of only one instance of this and wasn't for someone doing rope) or prossies in latex (yes it has pro dommes but they are not allowed to often sexual services)

Fetlife is not a swing site.

Most kinksters do not swing.

Yes, there are swingers on the site who define themselves as such but in few ways can you compare it to Fab.

Most people join as individual not as couples, so in this way it is similar to Facebook.

The site is excellent for finding out what is going on in your area, anywhere in the world and for putting you in touch with people with similar predilections.

The photography is often a cut above Fab and the writing very personal and articulate.

If, as a single guy, you're looking to hook up then I would advice to look elsewhere.

We have met many people through Fet but always as a couple and mostly not for sex.

i think the less judgemental forums thing is more to do with the fact there aren't really forum per se but more groups for specific interests. Less comedy acts on there as well thankfully as you get your fill of the wannabe comedians on here at times and the pointless points to that effect

I am more active on fetlife than here. The 'Dublin Scene' can be a bit difficult to navigate, you need to have your wits about you. There absolutely are 'predators' on there and on here. But if you are a responsible adult who tends to not take everything at face value you'll be fine. Some of the events are fun and you can meet great people. I've met a small selection of great people and a large selection of not so great people. It's a networking site and as such it's not really for hook ups, though you can find those at events. Things are easier if you know someone already established on the scene as it is cliquey. Have fun!

This really is a load of rubbish! There have been plenty of workshops for Shibari, Newaza, Kinbaku etc up in Belfast recently and in Dublin from well known enthusiasts like Dave & Clover, Anna, Stella etc.to Colston and show lots more than just tying a few knots. Even though some charge a nominal fee there are alot that are FREE i might add, something you dont hear often on here, but anyway i digress....

As mentioned here, it probably is a bit harder to crack the clique but it's really well worth it. The social side of it is far better than here. But it does cover a far wider spectrum than here.

How so? Munches are public events you just need to attend a meet and greet with the munch organisers. Nimh is a public event as is Goddessa. So invites not necessary for what are good nights out

As I said it wasn't easy getting a meet and greet with organisers. I had messaged a few times requesting this. It put me off.

I have found that's its easy to get invited to a munch. But the organiser has to choose the venue to match the attendance, and as they are discreet affairs the venue is carefully chosen. I can understand that there might need to be a cap on invites for that reason, but keep trying cos they're a great way to meet people.

I have found that's its easy to get invited to a munch. But the organiser has to choose the venue to match the attendance, and as they are discreet affairs the venue is carefully chosen. Was on fet life for 18 months with no success untill a fab lady friend messaged them and the next day I had an invite. It just put me off so just use it as information which suits me fine. Went to the Belfast rope group once.

Yeah thats the way they are in dublin. The workshops in belfast were different as you know yourself Sunday world are always looking for front page stories. So they are all done on the day, you accept the invitation and be in a certain area and them an hour before we were told were it was being hosted. Fortunately they are more easily organised down in the free state

Not all munches have a Meet&Greet or are run in the same way. The mid-week coffee & lunch social is more relaxed: no dress codes, no lectures... Just people sharing a joke or some stories over lunch.

Next one is this Thursday.
