Meath

I’m sure at this stage many have seen the latest cover of Cosmo with the plus size model featured.

Every social media thread I’ve seen it on has negative comments plastered all over it. Many berating the mag for a “morbidly obese” women on the cover etc etc

So my question is..

Are “BBW” (hate the term) ladies really attractive or are men on sex sites just saying “anything to get their leg over”?

I’ve always felt men truly prefer the slimmer ladies (said as a larger lady wishing she was a slimmer lady) and reading the comments on Twitter etc really proved this to me..

so is it true?

Slightly off answering your point but- everyone is different and entitled to be treated with respect. Personally it’s not for me ie larger lady but that’s just me. What I disagree with is the celebration of larger women (& men) in terms of totally acceptable. Health wise it’s not a good example for younger people- diabetes etc. Borh are opposite re larger people deserve respect same as everyone but shouldn’t be seen as totally normal by society.

God knows there’s enough pressure on young people re six pack, size zero etc but I don’t think it should be seen as the norm.

Am I getting my point across or just sounding like a dickhead?

Couldn't agree more with the health aspect of it, I'm not skinny by any means, I'm curvy but we too are not everyone's cup of tea!! It's not for us either BBW and we wouldn't meet with a couple that has a large lady in it!!!

As a larger lady when im paid a compliment or a guy tells me what he wants to do to me, have to admit i domt believe it. Ive got messages from guys here and i know for a fact if i met the guy out with a group of friends i know id be the last one in the group he'd make a move on.

I have been in a situaton with a group of friends, where a guy was chatting to my married friend, she imtroduced me, he looked me up and down and replied im not chatting to her.

So yes i reckon 99% of the guys here are lying to us larger ladies to get their leg over.

Been of a bigger stature doesn’t equal being unhealthy same with being underweight. People of all shapes and sizes can have health issues

I’m not the smallest girl but I can play 60mins of full contact rugby on a good fitness day. That’s what it’s all about being at my best fitness wise

I don’t think for a minute anyone I’ve met has simply met me just to get their leg over it’s prtery obvious when that’s a possibility and

There are guys out there that are chubby chasers as they see it as a fetish which is why I despise the word BBW

What the cover is doing is showing guess what there are other types of women out there and we’re all equally beautiful in our own right

I wouldn’t call you a large lady and i’m not looking to hook up with you.

Some larger ladies are stunners/some not- guess to some degree we are all semi shallow cause it’s looks followed by personality that makes the chemistry/sexual tension in air

I thought that the whole purpose of celebrating larger ladies was to avoid body shaming of Women; you know, the kind of social mockery and disdain that gives Women eating disorders and a lifetime of insecurity and self loathing... I suppose the fact that there are no "plus sized" male models shows just how far the double standard goes, or maybe its just that Men arent held to the same standard of beauty as Women, why cant both be fat and not criticised for it... unhealthy isnt beautiful in my mind, but yet, there is plenty of unhealthy choices we make and to some degree celebrate on threads and statuses here, its interesting that not one comment was made on the smoking thread for instance, about the dangers of such a habit...

I personally don't have a "preference",I always start off chatting to a lady on here to try to get to know their personality, because I don't really care whether you think you're gorgeous, ugly ,fat ,thin! ...if I don't like you as a person then nothings going to happen anyway!...I remember the first lady I met on here(in a previous incarnation),we got chatting, conversation and banter flowed,,I'd seen her breasts ,and I'd seen her face(she had a beautiful smile)and we agreed to meet!..it turned out she was a self described bbw,but by that stage it was irrelevant,I liked her,she liked me and we had a great time(more than once!)she was a lovely person, and in my eyes sexy and gorgeous!...if every gentleman and every lady on here(though there are a few) who think the perfect physical specimen equals sexual prowess, then 99.9% of us might as well delete our accounts now,and leave the seven people left to enjoy themselves! ...do I treat ladies I see off this site the same as I do on here?..yes of course, because I respect people for who they are!,,,now I'm not god's gift,so maybe I have to work a little harder, and I'm always flattered when someone shows an interest in me( yes even you guys! )..so the bottom line is treat each other as you would like to be treated yourself, and don't dismiss them without at least trying to know them!...you might be surprised who you find beneath the outer layer!

Hi there firstly it doesnt matter to me about size ...its the person inside that truely counts ..ive been in relationships in past with slim girls and some not as skinny , ive witnessed some real slim goid looking girls being real bitches and would eat themselves if they were chocolate like wise with some bigger build girl, but then i can say same vice versa, so i girl should not never be judged on her build its like a book u cant judge it simply xause of its cover!

The use of the Term Large seems a bit degrading for me.. if you ask me between size 0 and a bigger size I find the later sexier and attractive not that I got anything against the skinny ones... again most ppl in here would like a girl that got bid breast and an attractive set of ass... which most my Bbw do have. On the plus note I believe they are incredible in bed too

I notice a lot of sexy curvy ladies describe themselves as BBW when they are clearly curvy and there is a massive difference. I for one am not into BBW but I'm not into skinny ladies either, I prefer my women curvy but that's just my preference as the saying goes different strokes for different folks.

Most guys will say anything to get their leg over, but some have a preference for fat girls and some for skinny girls.

I think the media has more of a responsibility than to pander to them and should be showing us something to aim for.

They should be showing us women with fit bodies and men with fit bodies and nothing else.

They should not be showing us skinny size zero, nor obese girls as something that we can aim for.

I have always been drawn to a woman on the rangier side of the scale, far more so than petite women. Some of my friends are the same, some are the opposite, some like both. Attraction works differently for everyone and everyone sees beauty a different way. What I don't like is journalists pushing the agenda of blanket acceptance of obesity. Body positivity is a fantastic mental wellbeing tool however physical health has to be taken into account here.

Hand on heart here...

Have always beeen drawn to women of all shapes & sizes as personality, warmth & friendliness is what has initially attracted me to any woman here...

Now, there's also a saying that... "There's no such thing as an unattractive woman only a lazy woman"

...and I've found that to be true as a woman who makes the most of what God has given can be more alluring than a beautiful woman who can't string a fullsentence

From my own experience, I've been lucky to have dated a spectrum of ladies here from size 10 to size 26 and most were chatty, charming, sassy and sexy in their own unique way...

Also having hung out with my male mates ... most lads will be drawn to a slimmer attractive woman but having said that... a chatty, charming curvy well turned out woman will turn a lot of heads too

To me "Sexy is an attitude, not a dress size"

& maybe that's a good place tp start

Ok maybe I’m way off here... but I find women are women’s harshest critics and not men.

Never do I hear any male friends or colleagues commenting on women’s weight.

Believe it or not it's the chemistry that is the most important thing and not body shape. You all know what ingredients of chemistry it takes for you as an individual woman to flick your switch. Everyone is different but you are certainly aware when it happens.

Ok, firstly, I haven't read any of the comments above, so may be repeating.

Yes, a majority of guys wants to fuck a skinny girl, because he thinks she'll find him massive and masterly. Also these are the images portrayed by the media as being the normal woman. That's stereotype. Most guys love an hourglass figure, with a little belly and probably find that the sexiest, due to conditioning/genetic drive.

Some, not all, have an appreciation for the larger lady.

There are some very sexy bigger ladies but then there are grossly obese (often with Little/ Minx/babygirl/cherub in their username, which is blatant misunderstanding of English language)

Overall, I'd say most men can appreciate larger ladies, within reason, if they are sexy, confident and know what they want, verbally requesting it and not being the "fat slag" some guys expect they will be.

I'm waffling and must stop!

For me it's all about chemistry... all women are beautiful and deserve to be treated as such, sometimes there's a spark, sometimes there isnt but if a guy refuses to interact with a 'type' of woman as in Stephs case then he's an idiot. I've had some incredibly intense encounters with women where chemistry was invloved and to be perfectly honest for me it has to be there, I'm not chasing notches on the bed post or a leg over, and I'm not sucking up to you ladies but each and every one of you is beautiful!

Its body shaming from the media and social media which causes these kind of debates! I would have a preference for "curvy" "bbw" or whatever term you put on it however its the personality that makes someone beautiful in my eyes

Also i dont agree with the surely she couldnt be healthy thing as everyone has different health problems and she could be healthier than the rest of us

I know plenty of "larger" men and women and they are 100 times fitter and healthier than a lot of "skinny" people

There are definitely men here who love larger ladies and are more comfortable with them and 100% more attracted to them both on and off Fab, but saying that they are rare. But agree with the it isn’t a healthy size to be comments. You can be fit at any size but the body isn’t made to carry too much weight that’s been proven.

"I’m sure at this stage many have seen the latest cover of Cosmo with the plus size model featured.

------------

& maybe that's a good place tp start "

Spot on .... There are "stick insect" slim beautiful girls who think they can float and be noticed without giving a shit...... When you talk to them, you'd be better talking to a packet of tayto or mannequin..

There are women of all shapes and sizes, and ages ( age should also be included) who ooooooze sex appeal and create that magnetism to suck any man (no innuendo intended lol)

It's definitely charisma and confidence that lend to creating that spark/sense of self that attracts ... Not the perfect hair and dress size ...

Just my opinion

I was waiting for an opinion like this. You just judged someone of their physical size rather than the person behind the body. Throwing in a few insults like stick insect etc. How does that help the conversation. You can kiss arse just as easy and remain respectful to all sizes and shapes. You are body shaming while trying to defend body confidence.

Curvy girls are sexy as hell. They have all the curves in all the right places. Boobs hips and ass and as I always say it's just more cushion for pushin. Nobody has a right to judge anyone. If we were all perfect the world would be a very boring place

Ooh shit.... Apologies for not getting my message across clearly .. we have all been witness to labels put on various body shapes : stick insect, curvy, BBW, plus size, waif etc.... and I used such a label to illustrate my point but only to illustrate the narrow mindedness of modern life, hence the quotation marks

My point was supposed to just say, if a woman is confident and aware of her sexuslity, and is willing to engage in conversation, then age or body size don't become an issue for me

I hope this clarifies my point and explains my earlier comment... Apologies if it caused offence

But then im sure there are lots of men that are fed up with "all picture no sound" and are relieved to start a bit of craic and lose themselves in a chat ... To turn on their phone to see if there's a message from that person ... We can get lost in the mental stimulation as well, it's not all about the physical appearance

. I met a large lady a while back and can honestly say I found her to be super sexy . As in my bio I’m curious so don’t tend to look at women but this lady really captured me . Hoping our paths cross again as would like to have fun with her . Mrs s x

My idea woman is between a size 8 and 28

She should be at least 2 foot tall but no taller than 8 feet high

She can have short hair or long, not fussy about colour

And a good sense of humour

Don't find fat women sexy to be honest. I understand there are many reasons for people being fat and all, just don't think it's right to promote the "body confidence" and "proud of my fat body " shit. Of course it's easier to accept and be proud of the fact that I'm fat than do something about it...

We all have our personal preferences and that's our right.

We don't, however, have any right to cast judgement on any other person based solely on their appearance. Full stop. End of. Curvy, BBW, Slim, Skinny, Athletic - however we describe ourselves - we are not better than anyone else and we have no right to comment never mind criticise. My body is no-one else's business unless I invite you to discuss it. Body positivity is about celebrating all bodies...no if's...but's or and's...acceptance of people regardless of their size or shape is not conditional. The fact is that this world is made up of all sorts of people and it would be so damn boring if we were all the same!!

As has been said already Sexiness and Attractiveness is about so much more than shape... Tess Holliday is a gorgeous fabulous woman imho

As a general rule I'd not be into women heavier than myself but there are some occasional exceptions to that with the right connection.

It does seem to be a 'thing' for some guys here, maybe it's them not being fussy or maybe they are genuinely turned on by it but I suspect for more it's the former.

Each to their own

There is a few that want the perfect barbie look figure.let them on.they not worth a second thought if they like that.

"

I know loads of girls with gym bodies and they can't get dates with guys with average bodies.

Like bodybuilder women, they scare a lot of men, afraid of having a girlfriend stronger than them.

Remember Katie Price started body building and all the men and women crawled out of the woodwork to call her healthy body disgusting?

Looks are only on the outside tbh, it’s more about personality for me, I like a woman to be her self, I know both stick thin and larger ladies I would have nothing to do with as they are so far up there own arse, then there are the ladies that are happy in being themselves that I would be much happier to have a night out with there size don’t make them sexy, that would be there personally that makes them sexy.

"Do this mean that men are not being fussy choosing bigger ladies?"

It's the same for men and women.

There was a thread a while ago where women were openly discussing that they wouldn't have the confidence to talk to or go to the bedroom with a perfect guy.

If they did they might go to the bedroom, sit on the edge of the bed, cover their tummy and think "he's going to think I am ugly and fat".

If he had an average/good body they might prowl around the bedroom like a sex kitten.

It's not exactly "not being fussy", its finding someone whose body they like and who they can be confident around.

Its the same with men, except their ego can be hurt if the woman has a better body.

I wouldnt say men are on lly interested in slimmer ladies, I myself like all different shapes and sizes but I would say the common denominator would be a pretty face.

I commented before about when I was younger there was a social stigma among lads if you were dating a “fat” girl which I was conscious off, now I couldnt give a flying f**k.

Look at the likes of Ashley Graham absolutely stunning looking woman, yes she has a larger frame than most models but I wouldnt call her obese!

I think the negative comments on the Cosmo cover relate to the fact that the model in question is clearly obese which obviously leads to other medical issues. I agree with a lot of comments on here that a person can be fit and have a larger frame(i include myself in this as i gym qll the time but if i dont watch my diet i balloon up) but when we as a society decide to parade obesity as normal I think it’s a very slippy slope.

Like other lads here i hope I dont sound like a dick but the model in question wasnt born that size, no medical issue(thyroid) could cause that weight gain, it is simply too much food in not enough exercise/healthy eating.

P.S i intend to destroy a dominos large pepporoni later

I don’t know how I didn’t notice this post before.

I’m so so so body conscious I am so self conscious I hate when I get emails saying oh look at your big arse etc etc I just take it as an insult I was a bbw ( but obviously never liked it or the therm) now I’m more that curvy and hate it. So the cover of a magazine could be saying size 0 or 18 is in fashion but it’s how you feel in your own body.
