Turners Cross

Okay I don't see how it's possible that one of the most exciting cities in the country with all the banter and craic has no swinging parties?? My question is are there any?

Only takes someone with the gumption to run one, and Yes, "build it, they will come" works. I know - I did it years ago

Just seems so weird to me. The people in galway are so lively and fun.

but with 'Small Town Ireland' syndrome, you find most places need to have one 'Leader' type who will do the work necessary for planning, booking, vetting, communicating and MCing the event. After that's all sorted, the people follow .. .. ..

You'd need to know what you're doing to make sure everyone is safe from the Grima Wormtongues of the gutter press.

Never been to any in Galway, they seem to be rare enough. It’s a small enough city, so I think people prefer to play outside Galway.

Fair point, such a shame though.

I retired - ran over 60 events in Cork and then several more all over the island. I've done my bit at this stage.

Yeah that's true, I've not been to one there in a few years. I've also not been to one in Belfast in a couple of years. The scene constantly changes and people come in and out of the scene. Party locations change with it....

Since the Dublin 'Venue' started the trend for club type events, it's places like Vanilla that are very popular nowadays.

Ya the club scene is starting to kick off which I think is great as it shows a growth and changing attitudes

There was a meet and greet back at the end of March. Had quite a few attend but most from out of town. I'm afraid the swing scene is still fairly guarded and you can understand why.
