"In 1994 I was in 1st year in school and we wrote letters to ourselves that were to be put in a time capsule and opened 10 years later in 2004. I still have the letter. It's a funny read I have to say. In it I wrote that "I want to be a rock star and fuck loads of bitches" Well, I ain't a rock star and I don't fuck loads of bitches " Winner winner. "..when you were young? Did you follow dream career plan or are you a million miles from it now? At crossroads re study and work and would love to hear if anyone really ends up where they want to.." Can't share specific details on forums but I was directed down one career path in late teens. I followed it for some time and got pretty much as far as I could. Took a big risk some years later, following what I felt was my forte and I couldn't have been happier. Was a while before I earned the same money, then more, though I was happy going to work almost every day. Follow your heart OP, after you get your exams

"I always knew what I wanted to study in college but never knew what career I would lead me to. So I did my degree and hoped for the best. After working for a few years I went back to college by night for more qualifications which led to more job options, so I changed career a bit. After another few years I did another post grad and again had new opportunities open to me. I swore I’d never study again but now I’m thinking maybe just maybe I’ll start something next year... I gues what my experience has taught me is that you can always change your directon if you’re willing to try and that learning is never boring when it’s something that you want to do and when you know how much it can broaden your horizons. Maybe those feckin nuns in school were right after all " I'm similar, I'm happy in my career but finished my post grad last year and looking at doing more next year. It's always good to have an exit strategy! But my god the study is brutal

I integrate adults with intellectual disabilities into society and help them live a more "normal" life rather than living in a care home setting.
