POF scam

So I get a few notifications from Women on pof to "meet me".., even if you say hi they'll respond back with a message full of spelling mistakes and to click on a link to continue the conversation..they don't hide the fact that they only want one thing. I'm a smart enough lad not to get roped into it but I wonder has anybody followed these messages up and is it actually true? Annoying though only getting messages from scanners and none from actual real people. Oh, asking for a friend..

If you private mail me your bic and Iban numbers and your cc details we can get started

Couple of years ago on POF, received a message from a US marine in Afghanistan. Went with it to see how far he would go, and sure enough he needed money to exit the force to spend time with me. This all after a week of messaging!

Scams are everywhere and in different forms. Just have your guard up at all times until otherwise.

Thank you and I'm sure you didn't send any money to him. I can spot them a mile away..just feel sorry for others who are caught by them.
