Just to take this away straight from the beginning I'm not claiming to be one. Anyhow several research studies have shown that it's more difficult for intelligent women to find a partner - I know this isn't a dating site. So but obviously too much intelligence is a turn off for men. While the other way around it's completely different.

Thoughts?

Possible link between women with a higher level of intelligence and higher standards? But to he fair intelligence is such a broad term its hard to give thoughts. Is it IQ EQ etc....

It's biology ,a woman will always seek out a partner who she considers would give her children of a certain standard,she has no control over this,it's just instinct. Therefore it's natural that an intelligent female will be looking for a higher standard and in lots of cases unable to find someone appropriate for them....a bit long winded..hope you get the idea

It might be a bit harsh and too general but I can imagine that some shy away from an intelligent woman because they see their alpha behaviour threatened or prefer one that they can boss around.

i can swallow that, slowly with a large glass of vodka.. Relationships i have been in with women in the past, where the ladies had a higher iq than myself, have all been doomed to failure. Was it because i felt intimidated by their superiority,No, i found them to be extremely boring, to the point of having a very rigid perception of life, im not generalising all women here, merely the relationships i have been in.. I think with any gift or quality a person has, is balanced out to some degree, with under developed potential in other areas of their being, i just wish they were intelligent enough to understand this

I’m talking about personal experience possibly should have been more specific apologies.

However irrespective if you’re a man or woman should be able to express an opinion about the other gender.

I’m certainly not a man basher I enjoy them too much

I usually enquire in advance about cooking skills and dishwashing abilities. Small feet are a prerequisite. If she can't stand in close to the sink she'll be no use at the washing up. It's the little things that count.

Great to meet someone with whom you have common interests with, someone who you can hold a conversation with without it feeling forced, for me I'm definitely not intimidated by intelligent women, intelligent conversation is a big plus in my book.

Don’t agree at all. The great love of my life is incredibly intelligent, it was one of the things I loved about her. My not being intimidated by it may have been an attraction for her too. God how I miss her

I love all women just for being themselves ...

..have dated a "mega genius" or intellectually gifted woman who was very much in a world of thoughts, so when pondering something, you just had to leave her alone to her own devices....

Can see how it can be a challenge for some people to deal with a partner who appears to be obsessed and consumed with work or being challenged a lot in life...

...but funny thing is she liked me because I kept her "feeling silly" when she really needed it

i meant men & women needed to be open minded & be open to compromise when seeking a short term or life partner ... getting fixated on one area of a persons personality may result in the whole person being missed ...

I wouldn't think this is because men can't cope with a smart woman anyways.

If you look at the fundamental almost primitive nature of how people choose a partner we may see why an intelligent woman finds it hard to get a partner.

Men look for curvy bodies, round bums, big boobs to "mate" with because instinctively we see that her body is a great for childbearing. Also women just look sexy so there could be that!

Women instinctively looked for men that could protect them and provide. So essentially women gave men the gift of sex in exchange for protection etc.

In these days with our ever changing technology and changing ways Women don't feel they need the same protection or men to provide for them. So this instinct of picking a partner based on that way is dying. Especially in more intelligent women as they can provide for themselves effectively and don't need to be looking out for Mr protector giver. Therefore aren't just settling with any man and finding it more difficult to find or be with a partner.

That's my hypothesis anyways!

Though I'm certainly sure there are many men out there who would just be intimidated by an intelligent woman.

I think a lot of people mix up their own perceived intelligence with being vocal about their opinions.

Intelligence is something I would find attractive, being loud and opinionated, not so much.

Totally disagree, I find women with intelligence is a turn on, like a lot of guys do. You can have so much interesting conversations with intelligent people, regardless of sex and learn so much from them.

There's so many people out there with more intelligent than myself (which ain't hard, haha) and I enjoy topics however they are brought up to be informed of new insights they have.

Maybe I'm wrong here but I do find people of so called "less intelligence" are more accepting of people with high IQs than the other way round too.

Anyways, kinds going off on a tangent here, haha......Although it can be a big factor, it's more than just guys who are intimedated by women with intelligence that they can't find a partner
