I think, given Dublin's second half performance against Galway, that you might need a miracle.

Having said that, I don't imagine Dublin will have the same space against Tyrone but they're peaking at the right time.

I hate to say it but Dublin are an absolute class act, miles ahead of the chasing pack. The 2nd half performance vs Galway was outstanding-they play like professionals within an amateur sport.Fitness, efficiency and a bench to rival the starting 15.

I hope Tyrone can make a game of it but I see it as an easy victory for the dubs.

They say Galway are so defensive this year but at least the left two men infront of the dublin goal all day. Dublin had all 15 inside there 45 on countless occasions.

County football has gone so clinical. This defensive game is piss poor to watch. Dont get me wrong i admire what Dublin has achieved but id never rate what they do as great to watch.

Dublin certainly are a well oiled machine but they also have some fantastically talented footballers and no amount of investment can buy talent like Brian Fenton, Jack McCaffrey, Cormac Costello etc. The second half against Galway on Saturday was one of the most impressive footballing displays I've seen in the last year.

Any county in Ireland that would have the same professional backing as Dublin would improve no matter what level of football they are at.

Maybe if the Galway forwards tracked back to defend and had the head for the game to be able to do so, they could have given Dublin a better game.

Dublin were relentless attacking, and them being able to track back to defend does not mean they parked the bus.

I get it, its boring for all of you non dubs to see Dublin play. It can be boring for us Dubs too, they can make it look like a training game and we sit and have a chat.

But that is why they are the best to watch, Like barca, 90% of their games are not "exciting", you just wait for a team like liverpool to take their game up a level and give them a proper game. Or wait for them to play a big hitter.

Can Tyrone step it up? I am excited to see. Because if they beat Dublin, however they do it, they will deserve praise. Cause Dublin are just amazing right now.

I still enjoy watching football these days in spite of the constant negativity but I'll find it hard to take an interest in the foregone conclusion of the aif. Dublin are quickly doing to the rest of Ireland what they've already done to Leinster. No surprises attendances are falling when there isn't any hope of success.

Totally agree. Hard to see where Tyrone are going to be able to match and overcome such a well drilled professional Dublin outfit. Tyrone need all their players to play to top of their ability and cant afford to miss chances like Galway penalty or numerous chances for points in first half. You cant beat this Dublin team without being ruthless cos in fairness to them they are.

Looks like its a 4 in a row for them. Hoping itll be a decent game. The football badly needs it as the hurling has excelled this year.

Football survived Galway dominance in the mid 60s with their 3 in a row, Kerry dominance in the seventies and early eighties with their 4 in a row as well as the era of the blanket defence so I'm quite sure it'll survive this current glorious spell for Dublin. No county can dominate any sport forever. The most recent proof of that is Kilkenny in the hurling and I didn't hear anyone talk much about the state of hurling for all those years when the hurling championship was only a competition to see who got beaten by Kilkenny in the final.

It will be a massive shock to me if Dublin don't do 8 or 9 in a row, maybe Kerry might catch them in 5 years time or so when their good minors mature but from the rest of the pack there is nobody looking like it. Leinster is finished permanently.

The hurling was excellent. Each game was looking to outdo the last epic between the teams and each week you really couldnt be guaranteed who was going to win. The pace and physicality of the game made the football look dreary and drab and error ridden.

So much resources and money has been put into promoting GAA in Dublin that it has now flown ahead of the remainder of the country and hard to see how the rest will catch up..

I wouldn't be so sure. Kerry minors are going through an incredible spell at the moment so they'll have some new blood coming through probably over the next few years. The Dublin underage teams didn't look so hot this year at all. Minor teams don't necessarily progress into senior teams but they can be a pointer at the same time.

Look at how many of this great Dublin team who are still under 25, even this years under 20s have two future stars in James Doran and James Madden. Kildare did a job on both but they are both underage next year. Doran is a more skillful version of McMenamin while Madden is quicker than McCaffrey while having the size of Mannion. If they have someone with half a brain over them next year they should go close to an all Ireland at that grade.

Kerry's players should come good but if they suffer some hammerings from Dublin in the coming years it could do long term damage. Not getting out of the super 8s was probably a blessing for them in that regard this year.

Dont get me wrong I dont blame Dublin. I do believe the GAA have over resourced and funded the facilities and clubs in Dublin in comparison to their counterparts in practically all other counties in the country. Clubs in Dublin have facilities which are as impressive as the Centre of Excellences in many counties. I believe some level of balance is required here to have any chance of any of the Leinster teams to get anywhere close to Dublin over the next few years.

I can see dublin hurlers winning an all Ireland in the next 6 or 7 years simply because of the set up in dublin. The gaa will have to share the sponsorship recived by every county evenly between the 32 countys. That way the smaller counties will benefit the most and make the championship more competitive. AIG will win another all Ireland this year

Nobody is blaming Dublin, they have their house in order and have made the most out of the overly generous funding they have been gifted the last 15 years.

The problem for other counties all over Ireland (not just Leinster anymore) is that the combination of funding, population and winning culture makes competing with them statistically very unlikely.

Kerry can in terms of funding (to some degree) and culture but will still fall down in population.

Sorry for sounding so defeatist, if I was playing I'd have to believe that they could be beat but I'm just a contrary supporter.

There is always going to be politics and favourites in county football. Its part of GAA and Im sure it exists in Dublin too. I am sure GAA fanatics within the county could name a number of club players whom they think should be in the Dublin panel but are being overlooked by the current management and whilst they are winning all will be happy. As a provence we need to be more proactive if we want our teams to progress. Its pointless whining about Dublin while doing nothing or changing nothing. Yes players get over looked and my feelings are that there needs to be more accountability with selections, local politics need to be removed.

"Totally agree.

The hurling was everything the GAA is about this year. As a complete neutral i just loved the drama of it

Everything is cyclical it will come back but at the moment its all about the hurling. Leinster football needs to wake up and start producing players. Look at meath... well founded, good juveniles, great population yet the county football team us producing shite .. no bloody fire in these young fellas bellys..

Its easy to sit back and blame Dublin ... stop looking at others and fix the rot withen county boards. Dublin set a standered go meet the challenge

I agree about sharing the wealth with smaller counties. Im a wee county woman and the passion and support at club level is fantastic.. it doesn't transfere to club because of local politics. The best player doesn't always get picked, take the local politics and bullshit out of it and start aiming to produce the best county teams. Learn from Dublin GAA instead of moaning. I'll also say watch the ladies game ... fooking brilliant

But can you also agree that a number of the better club players in smaller counties dont want to join the county teams because they dont see the point. There is always going to be politics and favourites in county football. Its part of GAA and Im sure it exists in Dublin too. I am sure GAA fanatics within the county could name a number of club players whom they think should be in the Dublin panel but are being overlooked by the current management and whilst they are winning all will be happy. Mayo who have probably been the most consistent and closest to removing the Dublin dominance over the past number of years also have their politics and disputes going on within the county and im sure they believe some players should have made the breakthrough to senior at this stage also. Its part of GAA and human nature and always will be."

Agree with all the above , but simply put the best team in the country are Dublin , the second best are their reserves, if teams at least have a go the football would be much more watchable , but I guarantee you Tyrone will have 12 players minimum in their half at almost all times hoping to win a low scoring match , which they won't , but which will make for painful viewing . The hurling this year seems to have been about trying to outscore the opposition , leading to classic matches , most of the football has been about restricting the opposition , leading to a poor championship , with Dublin comfortably ahead of everyone

I believe it'll be a poor game with dublin winning ... a frustrating game no doubt

Exactly that I'm sure Dublin could leave there best 15 at home and produce a second or even third team capable of winning it
