I thought you all loved him down there south of the border. After that little rant rover you could venture north and take on arelene foster for leadership of the DUP.

Hes the leader of the biggest paedophile ring and i watched a documentary not long ago about how young girls were having their babies stolen and put up for adoption against their wishes. The way people were treated was disgusting and inhumane. On top of that they have their own state with its own rules were the hide and destroy knowledge because as they say knowledge is power. Its just another cult run by a cunt.

Why don't I want to attend some fella who represents an institution responsible for some of the most hurrendous crimes this country has known. They have wrecked more lives than any drug gang ever has here. What they have done right in no way whatsoever makes up for it's ills.

They sold babies ! They treated women like absolute dirt. From a very personal experience I know it all too well what happened in the name of the rules of the catholic church.

I wouldn't cross the road to see him. Fuck the pope. Fuck the church

They could even go one step further and go for the leadership of SF.

Abortion of Irish babies carried out by English companies. That's what "nationalists" down south and up north want?

But being serious, people in the south spit in the face of morality to spite the pope and wrongs carried out by people he never met because their belief system is more aligned to American liberal agenda pushed by a satanic belief structure than a christian one.

Two eyes for one, and deciding for themselves what is moral instead of forgiving and using the moral compass of the community. etc

Haha...so when is the last time you ventured south of the border? If you'd bothered you'd know that the people who 'love' him are a dwindling minority. Unlike you and your mates in the DUP, we're evolving..you should try it. Its liberating.

If.someone doesn't believe in your mythical skydaddy it's also highly unlikely they will believe in his arch nemesis.

Amazing how out of the 1000's of proposed gods yours is the correct one and your particular denomination is correct .

On about people choosing their own morality, it's a shame more people don't think for themselves than using the morality of a book that advocates for fucking family members, slavery, non-consensual sex, the mass murder of almost every living thing on the planet.

Now... let's talk about grade a whopper bullshit that christianity spews when you speak about how the pope and the people he never met.

Let me be clear with you.. there was no Adam & Eve who sinned in the garden of Eden and even if it were true nobody who's been alive for 1000's of years would have met them yet we are all born sinners ?

Ain't that fucking convenient ? Just to mass control sections of society that need a skydaddy they are held to account for the actions of some lad who was made from dirt .

There was no Adam & Eve as I said. It's a myth as the flood is a myth. So many stories from the bible are slight alterations on earlier mythologies. There was no talking donkeys , snakes or bushes. It's all a system put in place to control it's sheep.

The earth is billions of years old, the universe much older than the earth. There is about a billion trillion stars in the observable universe and yet we are led to believe some super vain and awfully insecure lad who could be responsible for such a vast universe had to go fuck his own mother to give birth to himself and cuck his mothers partner in the process.

How fucking bizarre he chose to have some desert dwellers write his book for him. People who if he existed never met the man and gave conflicting reports of his life even at that.

Between the first bible and the king james version there thousands of differences but I'm sure your particular denomination interprets the word of god perfectly.

There is no god. None. Nobody is coming back to save us from 2,000 years ago. That includes Jesus all the greek gods Zeus,Hera,Poseidon,Demeter, Ares, Athena,Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, Dionysus,Hades,Hypnos,Nike, Janus, Nemesis, Iris,Hecate

or Tyche. None of the other gods are real either.

Evolution is a fact. Plain and simple. We are not at the center of the universe. The earth is not flat. It is billions of years old. For hundreds of years Christians tortured non-believers and to this day there are still some that would be in favour of it albeit a lot less % than it used to be for not living according to the Christian agenda.

If the stories are to be taken as true then:

The prophet Muhammad was a kiddy fiddler. Jesus fucked his own mother as a tool to give birth to himself.

Those are not moral standards that anyone should wish to live by. It deserves ridicule and the damage of indoctrination into religion is the single biggest con job ever known to mankind.

"I think its an amazing thing. Head of the worlds largest Nation.

Faith the belief that wants to be considered as knowledge but lacks the objective evidence to be considered as such. It is the surrender of the mind. The surrender of reason. Group think alligned to faith connects people quite often to a dangerous tribalism where they partake in things that are not conducive to a healthier society.

There is a reason faith healers don't work in hospitals. Faith is the driving force behind suicide bombers. Faith is the reason some parents don't give sick kids the required medical treatment and rely on prayer. Total and utter neglect.

If a priest has faith will god cure his cancer or should he seek medical treatment fron a doctor who may be agnostic/atheist.

Why is belief in the supernatural needed when it is belief and inclusiveness within humanity as a whole that ultimately would help us a species. The idea of God is man made. Sell people an untouchable eternal bliss and if they believe it you can make them believe anything .

Mary lou... id support that woman in a heartbeat and proudly. I think maybe your obsessed though.. abortion??? How does that connect to the papal visit. As far as forgiveness goes, to use their language when they repent snd seek forgiveness for their crimes against women, human rights violations and human trafficking ill hold the pope in far higher esteem. Ill still go to the fleadh instead.

Well technically that's exactly what the church is about. Them telling people not to do it whilst they do exactly the opposite. They are hypocrites

Faith is the mechanism in which religious fanatacism thrives. Of itself faith is not a reliable path to truth.

Is it a comfortable lie for people in a bad situation ? I believe it is but it's the indoctrination of religion that takes away the ability to be grateful for the 1 life we have. We are 1 of millions of species who have existed on this planet and the vast majority have become extinct.

Through unanswered questions, the echo chamber of indoctrination, lack of critical skills aswell as lack of knowledge of basic psychology and how religion manipulates people faith has become a status quo as something to be admired.

Those who know the least tend to think they know the most. The Dunning-Kruger effect in all it's glory.

When a kid dies in hospital from cancer is it gods plan for that kid to die ?

Is it god's plan for serial killers to wreak havoc on the innocent ?

Is it god's plan to be represented by 1000's of different variations and stories.

The god's that are proposed are always indicitive of the societies which founded the religions based on them.

Responsibilty for our own actions and gratitude for what we have combined with a will to keep going though the hard times is what would be a far healthier alternative than attaching a third party god to be the puppetmaster of ones life.

I've no interest in going. Nor any interest in the Catholic church. My 74 year old father is going, hopefully if he's recovery goes well.

Blocking tickets though is unkind. Apparently it's a big thing. One of the cervical cancer women has someone boasting about blocking 700.

And if she needs to believe in a higher power to get her through. Who are we to judge.

West of Ireland

I was abused by so called 'Christian Brothers' as a kid, regular enough but not brutal bad, hand down the trouser kind of stuff...,it was common enough around my primary school in the '70's. Survival of the fittest kind of stuff but nasty all the same. So' I hate the church and all it stands for and the influence it had in this country for so long.,..and I object to the Pope coming here poncin around like the greatest gift to humanity....but at the same time,my 85 yr old mother who is a saint and devoutly religious all her life shouldn't be denied the opportunity to go see the Pope if she wanted because someone decided to burn 700 tickets. Let history and education take its course and eventually the brute that is catholicism in Ireland will die the slow death it deserves. Fuck the church and fuck the pope.

The tickets where free for anyone and everyone to book so I booked some along with a lot of people I know. The way I see it is you never know when faith might take hold of you and how silly would I feel if I discovered god and was too late to get tickets.

As for sick or terminally ill people they had just as much time to book tickets sure parish priests where block booking tickets well in advance of them going on general sale so they had early access to tickets.

If a hundred other people decided to jump of a bridge would you do that too ?? Just because others done it doesn't make it right .. as regards priests block booking them they will be giving it to their parishioners .. Imposing beliefs on people? Isn't that exactly what the church/people of faith do regularly??

If their god wants them their then he/she will send them tickets all they need is faith and believe that they will get tickets. I don't have faith in that process so I booked tickets in case I want to go.

Ur a bollix and I mean it no matter what happened or didn't u use the information to formulate ur opinion and u stick by the conviction of ur opinion untill u see or hear something to change it. By imposing ur opinion on others u are denying them the right to freedom of thought

There was no trouble booking tickets. I didn't do it to be an asshole. Seeing as the pope is a head of state and people where barred from protesting anywhere near the park on the day, booking tickets and not turning up is a valid silent protest. If they had allowed a counter protest in the park the same day people would not have booked protest tickets. So what serious issues do you think I have Dr Phil?

@laidbackwrx : I find myself differing with your views on a few things but in my exoerience your disagreement is usually not disrespectful. Not towards me anyway at least. I have very obvious views given my posts on this thread.

Given how fundamentalist religious(mostly catholic here in Ireland) people have treated people they viewed as "sinners" for not aligning their lifestyles with the catholic teachings then I really don't see the issue in block booking tickets and not going.

There was equality of opportunity in getting the tickets. There are far worse as subjective as that word is ways to protest.

If you took a similar route of protest to the fundamentalist type you'd be down the local church screaming into a megaphone how the church and the pope by proxy protects child abusers.

The route you seem to have taken in my humble view is a civilised stance against the visit.

It's tangental to ask if you have protested other things and of interest more than conclusive proof of anything.

Islam/Hinduism etc has never had the same impact as the catholic church has here so in terms of optics catholocism effets us much more in society than other religions have here.

Regardless of previous differences I commend you on a civilised protest. Pity you couldn't book more.
