"What does everyone do for a living? Always wonder what the horny types are like 9-5" I work in retail. Scrambling to meet targets so I can get commission to add a small bit extra to my minimum wage. All while dealing with the public (who are mostly assholes) work every single weekend, cannot trust a single person I work with and have absolutely no opportunity of career progression

" Not really, it's sales based job. I took during a time when there were very little jobs in mayo. It hasn't gotten much better but I'm holding out hope

I don't work weekends and don't deal with the public. Very low levels of stress in there but money is never going to be great. I couldn't start a family with it. Be brave and do online courses for jobs that offer a better career and life.

"I’m in hospitality so I know the feeling, I left retail for hospitality. Both sectors are essentially the same for employees, I can’t say I would recommend it! I’d say go back to school and start again! That’s what I’ve just done and so far so good! " I have considered it, not sure what to do. What are you studying?

It's disgusting the way people in shops are treated

To be honest I'm afraid to start a proper career. Afraid I won't like it and afraid I'll put alot of work in and fail. That and I don't know what I like. I hope you find something you love but you have to be brave when you do.

Factory work is the dream for me except it's all temporary contracts and needing to know someone to get in

"Run my own business...lonely thankless post but there are bills to be paid. Remember as a teenager wanting so much to be a music producer...Where did that dream go? " There are lots of part time music production courses out there. I done a intro course last year over 10 weeks. Got the bug now to do a more advanced one.

"Ever been really good at something that you hated? Stuck in a rut for the last five years in a job I hate but I'm good at. Best ways to find a new career path? " Firstly look up springboard+ there's lots of courses either free or 90% funded. Secondly well maybe before you pick a course/career do up a list or jobs roles or anything about a job you wouldn't like it might be easier to see from that list what you would like to do

"Leave it and start fresh. What’s the point at being good at something you hate? You’d be much happier being bad at something you love" Can't go leaving a job when I barely make enough to get by each week along with paying bills and looking after a child

My latest degree was done part time via springboard+ and I was working full time as a design engineer so anything is possible

"Mr had a chance a couple of years ago to take a job doing his hobby but it came down to pushing on in his actual career he was building up and money and sometimes you just have to do what is the right thing for cash" I'm not even getting good money, I'd stick it out for abit longer if I was better paid. It's just sickening knowing people that make twice as much as me without any effort all because they know the right people who got them cushy jobs

"Perhaps it's worth thinking about whether it's your job or job field that you have a problem with, OP, a drastic change may not be necessary, or it could be work-life balance that is the issue. " The above is very true.
