I posted this on another thread weeks ago and got slated by a few people through pms for being an asshole, and that it was a pointless comment. But due to recent thread posts, its clear that carelessness with private info and pic can lead to a world of trouble for yourself. So gonna open a thread on the comment.

PRIVACY STARTS WITH YOU.

1. Don't give out your private number. Use another phone for fab. ( Google your phone number and find out what private info is connected with it on the web. Work address, home address etc. Scary.)

2. Don't use your real name on kik etc. It's crazy how many people here do.

3. Don't send intimate pics with visible faces to strangers.

All 3 of these have been sent to me on fab. So I'm guessing it happens quite often. Absolutely careless. Maybe people just don't realise how careful you need to be.

4. Do all of the above and tell me how ridiculous im being. it's up to you.

Everyone is responsible for their own safety though, so let's hope they read it and take the necessary precautions

I agree wholeheartedly, the concept of victim blaming seems in some people's eyes to have negated any responsibility we should take for ourselves.

I definitely agree with 2. Op

All it takes is someone's real name on kik, general area they're in & off someone can go on a social media hunt to reveal if person is married, their occupation, etc...

So, yes best be a little clued in here

Should add

4] Do not put phone numbers, kik/snapchat etc IDs, email addies or other contact information on the forum - it is PUBLIC - anyone with an T'Internet connection can read what's posted here!!!!
