"I have suffered migraines for past few years. Stress causes mine. I am on Sumatriptan. Take 1 when I feel it coming on and a 2nd a few hours later if needed. They are very good. I also suffer from vertigo which the doc says is a secondary from the migranes. Both been very bad these last few weeks so much so I endedup in A&E as my balance went weird. Need to reassess what I eat and try to cut stress from my life a bit. Hope you get your migranes sorted as they take overyour life. " sorry to hear this hope you get yours under control too xxx

"Any fabbers on here that suffer from regular migraine . I'm starting to get them quiet regular each one lasting roughly 3 days they are so debilitating Any tips on how to deal with them ? " I was crippled with migraines for years, I tried everything from tablets that tore away my stomach lining leading to an ulcer, I tried cures, went to the optician more times than I can count and I accidentally stumbled upon the best relief ever when d*unk one night. A friend gave me a joint when and told me to try having a smoke the next time one came on. It’s changed my life. I’m not advocating casually moving into recreational drugs but CBD oil would do the trick. It’s available both with THC (the compound that give some people the ‘high’ feeling) and without. It might work for you and it mightn’t. Though it’s worth noting that when I told my GP about my alternative treatment he thought it was a great idea though somewhat unorthodox.

"Records are ur best friend when see a specialist for this disability record every day the intensity from 1 to 10, what u have taken for to relive the pain strange as it sounds stay away from paracetamol more than four a month and a migraine clinic will consider u an addict. Imagrin when the migraine hints at starting can be a good first line weapon in ur arsenal for some of the other preventive like topamax ull need to see one of the specialist in this area, be carefull there are some who say they are specialists but they are not up to scratch on the latest treatments. There s a drug just off clinical trials approved by the FDA but not yet by the European medicines board however it's expected it will be cleared by the latter before the end of the year. This new wonder drug has trough trials worked for 90% of patients suffering 7 to ten days a month with no side effects giving them back their life however for more sever suffers those on 25 to 30 days a month we have yet to see a complete trial. The Irish migraine association is one of the most progressive in the world and well informed on the developments going on in this field it's well worth contacting them and getting the info from them There s a consultant in Beaumont migraine clinic also works out of the heritage he's name escapes me at the moment as often as I have met him who trained under a Dr goadsby an Aussie heading up the world wide research into migraine if u can get to see him he's a light at the end of the tunnel Google Phillip goadsby he has published some great research which may help u Living with the fourth most common disability for over 15yrs we have seen a lot of quacks and medicine men that have trough science and homeopathy having cures but having tried a variety of them to no avail we live in hope that this new wonder drug will be cleared by the Irish medicines board and funded by the HSE for probably what will be a small group of chronic suffers " very informative thank you
