Well that was a first. A girl from Derry joined Fab tonight. I sent her a polite message, I am within her age range and was immediately blocked. I seriously doubt she even had time to read it. There is nothing on my message or page to identify me, and I didn’t recognise her from the face pic she had on public pics. Strange wee place this at times.

Can I point out that if someone joins and had a face pic in public the odds are that the face isn't theirs.

My guess would be that the profile was set up by (just a guess...) a guy and he knows you

Just sayin....

Maybe she just has a strict no married men policy and discounted you automatically for that or some other basic red line ( for her ) detail on your profile. Whatever the reason, she's done you both a favour. I'm sure it's nothing to take personal as profiles on here can't do justice to who someone is.

Def a woman in both pics lol. There is nothing to identify me on my profile, or in the message I sent. Maybe she just took cold feet and left Fab. There’s no sign of her profile now. If you’re blocked can you still see their page but not open it, you know it goes to a page telling you admin might have taken it down or you may be blocked. Or could it just all be hidden from me?

Hi. No I’m not taking it personally I’ve been blocked before for seemingly no reason. I’m just curious why it happened so fast.

I've seen that happen numerous times over the past.

Sometimes people may block to save you the trouble of messaging them again, think of it as doing you a favour.

Lots of men send the same intro repeatedly, in their scattergun approach.

Most likely a bloke with some poor unfortunates pic posing as their own.

I don’t get why guys message brand new profiles. Give them a few days to settle in. Then they might get a chance to read your messages. (After they bulk delete the 400 they get in the first 12 hours)

Now not picking on the poster who posted this but this expression bugs me whenever I see it on here and it's been thrown around quite a lot as some sort of a comfort when something didn't go the way you expected.

Maybe I simply don't understand it but I think it's a stupid sentence/expression at least how it's used on here. How can someone experience a loss of something that doesn't exist, didn't happen and never will? And how does that make the other person feel any better, is it some sort of hot air confidence reinstallation?

Remember fab is a mad mad world, normal rules don't apply, don't expect anything ...people block for their own reasons, you shouldn't really give a S***

I think we are reading far too much into this. I was just curious how quickly it happened, bemused even. Certainly not upset or angry, when I’ve spoken to newbies in the past here and they have worried about rejection or being blocked I always tell not to take it personally because the other person doesn’t know them personally. In a nutshell this is happened. After sending someone a polite message, I was blocked seemingly before they had time to read it, and without their looking at my profile. I just found it odd. I’ve been blocked by people before for it appears no reason, I’m sure we all have. It’s no biggie.
