Am I part of the minority here that prefers interesting, mentally stimulating conversation and a sense of someone's personality to be attracted?

I've had backlash before..."this isn't a dating site",etc.

I can't feign interest if that element of attraction isn't there for me. It's first and foremost.

Sapiophile perhaps.

Surely Fab is more than tennis texts discussing fetishes and kinks..

May as well extract a tooth than extract a good conversation on here sometimes. I wonder is the art of conversion dying to be honest. It's probably a lack of interest, a lack of effort or maybe a lack of time. It's disheartening if you're making an effort.

It is hard to get an interesting and stimulating conversation but there is the odd guy that is more than capable of carrying on such chats. And these chats, without doubt, make the coffee meet a LOT more interesting lol.

Patience is a key!

It is easy to get disheartened and bored especially after a bad experience...but chin up....there are a few good guys on the site

I’ve met a few who I’ve had the best conversations with and they are the ones I’ve kept in touch with. There are some who I’ve met where there wasn’t really much chat and yeh the meet wasn’t as enjoyable.

A connection and chemistry is a must. If they don’t want to chat and see if it’s there I don’t have time for them

If they still get on, chances are they will also get on much better physically than otherwise if the mix of chat hadn't happened.

100% agree with the OP. I've had a lot of coffee meets and I love the initial buzz of meeting and when it clicks it's mostly because of similar backgrounds, experiences and desires.

I can't say being new here if you are in the minority OP, but there certainly are a lot of profiles on here that give off a superficial, hostile and often narcissistic vibe. That may be who they really are or it may be the result of a lot of disrespect, timewasting or harassment on here...either way it makes the more profound, positive and discerning profiles stand out.

So I say fair play to both kinds of people if their profile is an honest glimpse into who they are, who they want to play with and who they don't. There's nothing wrong with being clinical about hookup sex if that's what both parties are into . Just as there's nothing wrong with total personality and conscientiousness based hookups...or any hookups between both extremes as long as neither party is duped by a false impression of the other.

Engaging conversation leading to a meet is part of the foreplay.

Even a prolonged break in chat then expecting to pick it back up again ("you still suitably wooed") isn't going to hold my attention. And I strive to maintain interest as well..

Hmm, yes and no...

I like an intelligent chat with a woman and it makes the whole thing more exciting.

I like to chat f2f over a drink. Chatting through messages is boring to me. Very slow, can't have a proper conversation and don't see the other person.

The key to any encounter is chemistry. Sex is interesting but if it's the only topic then it gets stale fast. Even though we tent not to reveal our whole life on here conversation chat banter and flirting do more to turn you on and get you interested....in my humble opinion
