Double standards?

Jump to newest

Wanted to put this out there and get some opinions..

Just had an unpleasant chat with a woman looking at my profile. I messaged her and asked did she like to chat. I got a "No". Now I'm not the type to take offense, as I know I'm not gods gift and not for everyone's taste. I get another message back telling me, " I can't stand bi men". now on her profile she says she's bi curious as it does on my profile.

Does anyone think this is double standards?

I think it's nice to be nice. Don't like rudeness.Plus you have a very open and honest profile. Don't worry about it,the babe was not for you.

Not particularly worried or upset. Probably a tad annoyed. Don't like hypocrites.

Don’t think it’s double standards you like what you like but no need to be rude.

There were no names given in my post. I wouldn't do that. I'm not into naming and shaming.

Thank you all for your opinions, that's the only reason I posted. Wanted some feed back. As I've already said I do not name and shame. But maybe peoples opinions here might make people think before being unnecessarily unpleasant when replying to others messages.

Why so? It's ok for a woman to be bi curious but not for a man?

"Why so? It's ok for a woman to be bi curious but not for a man?"

Techinally yeh I think you are right it is a double standard. I don’t know where it comes from. I wouldn’t not meet someone for being bi. I have been asked a number of times if I’d like to participate in bi 3somes and I’ve said no as it’s not my thing to watch men together or women together. But I do think it seems more acceptable by some for women to be together

Double standard or not Op, she did you a favour by revealing her true colours early on The worst people on FAB are the "stringers along" who only want a pen pal yet will tell you they're "up for a meet soon"

She just did you a huge favour so good riddance and "NEXT!"

Yes I agree. What's a woman's mind set if they " can't stand bi men" and find it acceptable to play bi themselves?

I someone wants to play bi I have zero issues with it. But why should it be less acceptable for men than women?

I'd say she's not really bi curious...just trying to please her man.

OP, you come across as a very genuine person. From your original post the details seem to be basically ...

* You messaged 'want to chat ?'

° She meaasged back 'No'.

and the instead of leaving it at that she ...

° Messaged again ' I can't stand bi guys ! '

If that's exactly how it went down ? ( I'm aware for simplicity you may have omitted details, and if so feel free to say so ) then I wouldn't say she was being hypocritical, as if you are going to pigeon hole people by orientation, then bi women are not bi men and visa versa

Was it a rude insensitive thing to say ? Yes.

Is a blanket statement about all people of the same gender just with one common trait naive ? Yes.

But, I do wonder is there's a chance she was just so used to being hounded by people who don't take no for an answer, that she miss judged you and maybe lashed out a little at you out of frustration with others ?

Was that right ? No...but in fairness I think there's no point in reading too much into it, as it's absolutely no relection on you...and to be honest probably unfair to judge her on one ill chosen message that you can't be sure of the true motivation that was behind it

Maybe a more rewarding forum question you .ight choose to pose for your own information is :-

' Ladies, do any of you automatically dismiss meeting bi / bi-cur males ?...and if so why ?

No its not double standards, she likes men to fuck her, and is interested in maybe being with a girl.

She does not like men being with men.

Hypocritical would be someone who believes in abortion being anti-suicide.

Or someone who believes in choice booking tickets for the pope so popes supporters would lose the choice to go.

things like that.

I don't think it double standards as her sexuality separate to her likes and dislikes. Though maybe a tad rude

Double standards or not, it doesnt matter. The lady can chose to meet who she wants and also decline for whatever reason she feels like.

It's double standards IMO, but nothing new there, we all know that bi women are unicorns and bi men are the opposite (whatever that is). Anyhow by the end of the day everyone can have their preferences but there certainly isn't a need to be judgmental or rude. A no thanks does the job, why lash out at someone?

C'est moi Boudoir

She is within her rights to have her preferences but tarring all bi sexual males under a rude judgemental attitude is not the way to go about it...bet this thread would be hopping if a bi man said that to a bi woman! There's the double standard.

Regardless of sexual orientation, rude is rude!
