This goes down to grassroots. Our players aren't expressive and attributes like being willing to run hard and tackle hard or take one for the team is sought after more than creative skillful play. We don't have great coaches at youth level. When I played for my local team even as a youngfella we were absolutely beasted in training. Laps, sprints, push ups, carrying teammates on your back to the half way line. Wtf is that for 13yr olds? We'd play a 15 a side then at the end for 20mins. | |||
