Restricted breeds are supposed to be kept on a strong short lead at all times. There are some good few breeds that are on that list.

I've a bull terrier and he's never off the lead.

But what I think is blames the deed not the breed any dog can be unruly and vicious I've been bitten by a few dogs over the years mostly little terrier type dogs.

My bully has on a fair few times been bitten by little yorkies and Jack Russells who where off the lead and ran up and started at my dog luckily my dog is a big softy and didn't react so I had to kick the little dogs away. All the other owners said was "sorry my dog doesn't normally follow that" if it was the bully running free and biting dogs they would be demanding he got put down.

All dogs should be on leads when not in a dog park or off lead area!

Any dog running up to another and barking can wind them up and scare hem

Certain dogs, yes. certain breeds no. Two of my dogs would fall into the category of dogs that should be "kept locked up". A Staffie and an alsation. I am a responsible owner.I put the time into training them. On a daily basis. They are amazing with other animals and people. In 9 years not one issue. They are well known in the neighbourhood I live in, for all the right reasons. Everyone loves them. Feel very strongly about this. If you put in the time you will have no issues, if you are responsible you will have no issues. With the exception of dogs that were badly mistreated before you got them. But again responsibility plays a huge part here.

Think it's just the dog, not the breed.

My mate had his labrador teared apart by two other labradors, so awful....think it's cause of Andrex (almost wrote durex, haha) ads, everyone mostly feels labradors are the most docile.

Pitbulls, Rotweilers & Alsations get unjustified bad reps

Dog owners should know where their dog is at all times.Far to many dog owners let their dogs run wild without knowing what they are up to.

agree with you it's down to the owner to train the dog to behave in right manner when out and about
