Right don't know how to approach this .

I been asked to give 3 years references for work with no gaps .

But I think it's invading my privacy abit something's I like to keep to myself .

Any recommendations to what to say and not come across dodgy lol .

Rightly so I definitely would nt employ anyone without work references if you have nothing to hide I don't see the problem to be honest.

I just hate giving my bank statements because there's a small gap in my employment .

If any gaps tell a good story that’s it. Shift the story towards your achievements in your roles.

Unless you got booted for something major there will be no problem.

Reasons that are totally fine for me when I hire people that have gaps:

- poor economic context and underpaid/unfit positions. Fine for the candidate to have been waiting for the right opportunity.

- candidate quit a role because he/she had no work-life balance

-candidate quit because professional development came to a halt and company was not supporting him/her to grow

- candidate took gap year/months to evolve/study/learn new things/find his/her soul

I don't want to give them my bank statement just I want to keep things private if you get me

Are you saying you're being asked for bank statements for a potential job?

Unfortunately, no where will give you a work without a work reference.

They just want to confirm that u worked in places that u claimed to have work.

Nothing to be paranoid about.

Surely your bank statements are nothing to do with anyone else unless you're applying for credit.

Your new employer doesn't happen to be an African prince promising you millions does he?

Firstly always tell the truth because getting caught damages career prospects and ruins your credability. But why would you have to give bank statements to an employer that's absolutely none of their business and totally private .

Dunboyne & Dublin

I'd report them to the Department of Employment, or whatever it's called.

They have absolutely no rights to be asking for your bank statements. An IBAN and BIC so they can pay you yes but statement? Fuck off and ask them to explain the reasons in writing. Then send that to the respective authorities. Fuckers

As an employer I have never needed anyone’s bank statements, just their bic and Iban to set up DD for wages. Sounds a bit weird to me..

maybe you’re applying to be a secret agent, is that it OP?
